- I purchased this watch for my dad for father's day, and he was very excited to begin a vigorous workout session and track his heartrate and calories burned. I think it was a hit, both as a watch, and a training tool.

Well, size, more than color.A week or so ago, my brother-in-law emailed me that he'd bought an old Elgin pocket watch on a site he'd probably prefer I not advertize, for $11. He was sending it to me 'To see what I could make of it.'I thought, "Aw, geez. $11? Probably a worn out rustbucket with a broken staff, rusty hairspring, and frozen keyless works." Well, imagine my surprise when it arrived, and it turned out to be in fairly good condition! These pics are actually post-cleaning, but clearly the engraving is still sharp and I see no brassing on the high points. The case is actually screw back and bezel, which surprised me since I didn't know they did that with 12s cases. Once I got the back off (managing not to screw it up TOO badly!), I found the movement to be much better than I'd expected. The balance was intact, no visible rust on the parts, and when I pushed on the center wheel, the balance took off running!I went ahead and cleaned it, and reassembled it, and it runs! It n
HelloI am new to the forum and am the proud owner of a new Superocean, (Blue Dial).I have been monitoring the accuracy for a couple of weeks and have observed the following:When wound fully, 40 winds as per the Breitlings user guide, the watch runs about 11 seconds fast in a 24 hour period, which of course is well outside COSC specs. After running for 24 hours or so, I reset and monitor again for 24 hours. In this instance it is 3.5 seconds fast, which is what I would expect. Is this normal for the Breitling? I have other automatics from Omega & Hamilton that don't behave this way.Any help is appreciated.

Hi Gentlemen,Since our mighty dollar has fallen so much against the USD which rules out purchasing from USA, my AP itch is starting to crawl back (at the wrong time) What is a reasonable discount for Australian ADs to give for a SS novelty or even SS RO chrono 41mm? Im not limited to sydney as i often travel for work.Any input will be appreciated, feel free to pm if you want to protect the ADs name. Thanks,James
Hi All,I recently received a PAM 422 about a month ago as a gift to celebrate my wedding on Sept 26th. The first time I saw a Panerai I was immediately hooked, even if I didn't know it. At the time, I was wearing an Omega 2254 Seamaster, and the Luminor style watch with the large crownguard looked so different from anything else I had seen before. Although I thought the watch looked ugly, I felt inexplicably drawn to the design. My interest in Panerai and watches in general picked up, and I came very close to picking up a Zero or 112, but I ultimately held off because I decided to leave my job and go back to grad school.Fast forward five years and a lot sure has changed. First and foremost, is my recent marriage to a lovely lady who not only appreciates me, but also my passion for Panerai. In fact, she was the one who suggested I get a Panerai as my wedding gift! I hadn't really kept current on the latest models, so I spent about a month doing research on the web and trying out differe
