Audemars Piguet 14902BA/002 wrist watches news:
Back in early 2009 I visited A. Lange & Sohne's manufacture in Glashutte. It was actually the first watch manufacture I visited, and now almost three years later I have much to compare it to. It is actually a shame that I saw Lange's manufacture so early in my career because I did not properly know how to appreciate it at the time. Don't get me wrong, I was thoroughly impressed during my visit, but I would have been much more impressed had I seen other places first that don't necessarily deliver the same experience and level of product. Even on a larger scale, Lange is the type of brand you can only really appreciate after getting to know many other watches first. I think that by definition that makes it a connoisseur's brand. This idea gets me thinking about what it means to be a connoisseur and how watches fit into the overall world of connoisseurship. Here with A. Lange & Sohne in the Napa Valley testing and learning about wine and watchmaking is probably a good place to pond
from my Hamilton AD. The officer's model I ordered came in today. I'm not sure if I can make it over this week and I'll be away this weekend. But I promose I'll post some pictures once I pick it up.
I found it pretty cheap, but was afraid I misidentified it.Thanks,Bob
Looking to see what the major differences are in the Navitimer World vs. Navitimer 01. Am looking at used or new watches and like the silver bands. I think the two two serial numbers are world and the bottom is 01 but what are the differences in these? I think the top three are versions of the world and the bottom is a 01? Would you trade a really nice 5134g (Travel Time) for a 5110p (World Time)?I really love the 5134g as I am into GMT/Travel Watches. That said, the 5110p is basically my grail watch (top of the tree in the GMT/travel genre) and the world timers are quintessential Patek. If you would do that trade, since the 5110p is platinum and more expensive, what do you think would be a reasonable amount to add in order to make a fair deal? Here are a few photos of the 5134g in case you are not familiar with the model.
