Audemars Piguet 15400OR.OO.D088CR.01 wrist watches news:
Anyone seen one or knows how much one would cost?
I am looking at some Panerai's, Rolex Seadweller, submariner, etc. IWC is on the radar too. I am not married to one particular brand. This will be my first higher end watch purchase. I am in love with the new Rolex GMT Master II, and could splurge for the additional cost but I also don't want to come across as a rolex snob at the same time.Suggestions, thoughts?
I moved to ATL a few days ago, and Swiss Watch Expo is within walking distance, so I thought I'll entertain myself and go check out their selection.Few of the older Rolex watches were obviously polished past usable condition, and few were clear frankenwatches. But on modern pieces, they do have quite a large selection.Prices are way higher than TRF, but that's expected given that it is a real store, not an internet seller. But here comes the funny part. I asked what sort of trade-in they would offer me for my 15202 Jumbo. The sales rep went and asked her manager.7000 dollars in store credit.Seven Thousand dollars for a 15202 Jumbo. I'm sorry, but that's not even a lowball, that's an attempted robbery. She then explained how they get watches at wholesale prices and so on and so on. I simply said thank you for a good laugh, and left. There are lowball offers, and then there are insulting offers, and then there is this.
I was in manhattan boutique today and this was available....1/10 made, i guess the Purists werent overwhelmed? It was sitting in case next to an openwork. Sorry, Didnt have camera.hodinkee/blog/2011/5/...in-celebr.htmlPs they didnt have the piece i was looking for...:(...just to try on...?:)
Hey All,I am UK based and am looking to get my watch repaired. I've got a question that I may already know the answer to but wanted to see if anyone may know otherwise?I have a Breitling Colt that has taken damage to the crown and middle case? I can't screw the crown down properly so I believe both of these will need to be changed.I've also noticed a bit of play when attempting to set the time and recently had a scare when the crown stopped moving the hands completely. A quick screw in and back out seemed to have fixed the issue but I haven't set the time again recently. Is there anywhere in the UK I can send it to for repair other than the official Breitling service center?
