Speedy model for sale at a Californian Burberry boutique
Even on our favorite Burberry Forum some people started to wonder whether it was a phantom Speedy or that it really exists. Well, we've definitely had it in our hands during our BaselWorld visit and in the meanwhile, we've seen a few photos floating around of this Speedy model for sale at a Californian Burberry boutique.

The strap is marked "shell cordovan" with some sort of undecipherable logo above it, and I'm not impressed with the quality of the buckle. No worries - a replacement strap and a service, and we're all set.

I just picked up this 1922 Sterling Silver cushion - with the 986A movement. Had my watch guy give it the once over. Actually, he told me about it and I purchased it through a friend of his. Here is a seller picture:And a couple of "after" shots:I don't know why, but the Greenwich really appeals to me - other than the Hastings, not many other Hamilton's look anything like it from that era. I just think that stepped bezel and the "rounded square" shape are classic. The good news is that I have a very nice coral filled Wilshire with gold tone hands in this shape (which I know were not original and have been looking for blue steel replacements). Came across this little bit of info earlier this week, thought I'd share it.Once again, it shows just how well-made some of the brands that are considered 'low-end' are.The Citizen Citizen Crystron Mega or 'Mega Quartz'. c.1975!Considered by many as the most accurate wristwatch. Whilst most quartz watches were within 15seconds per month, the citizen mega quartz/Citizen Crystron Mega was accurate to 3 seconds per year. Per year, people!A bit of info on it's 'thermocompensated' quartz movement:Stability in a quartz watch's rate, comes down to the cycles/beats of its resonator, the quartz crystal. Apparently, the crystal actually moves, many many thousand times per second. The fact that they have such a high oscillation rate negate traditional factors that effect a rate, ie: arm movement, watch position, gravity and so on. Do People Buy New From ADs and then Sell for a Profit?
I ask this question because I am looking to buy a BLNR. My nearest AD helped me out recently dealing with a fake watch I got stuck with, so I wanted to do business with them on a new watch. But they don't have any in stock, so I also have been looking here in the classified forum for pricing info. One BLNR I saw had a msrp tag of $8,950, yet I see prices up to 10k. I guess this makes sense if the supply is so low and there is a lot of demand, but I was surprised that a used watch could cost me more than a new one, lol.
