Breitling A2536313/C618 wrist watches news:
I've had these for a few Months now and still don't know too much about them. I know that they are made in Switzerland and use Swiss made movements but I'd like to learn a little bit more about them. They are both powered by Cal. 510ss movements which are supposedly Gruen Swiss, my first question to anyone who knows is; were these movement exclusively designed and made for Gruen? or are these movements derived from existing Swiss ebauche? It would make a tremendous difference if these were "rehashed" Swiss ebauche rather than exclusive Gruen designs, even if made in Switzerland. What was happening with Gruen at the time that these watches were manufactured, How well was Gruen's financial health? and lastly, would these watches qualify as legitimate Gruens and worthy of serious collectors attention? I believe, based on design, that these watches probably date from the Fifties or early Sixties, please correct me if I'm wrong.P1330851.jpgP1340993.jpg
I was in the ap boutique today and I noticed that the ROO navy looked slightly different. I asked the sales assistant and he confirmed that AP made the dial slightly lighter as a response to feedback that it didn't look like the rendering. Took a pic. The change looks a bit more obvious in person. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I put a PO rubber strap on a 3570 Speedmaster using original speedie springbars. The strap feels great, but the gap between strap end and case is noticeable and bothers me. Will curved springbars reduce the gap between the case and the strap? Thanks
any thoughts? Reviews? Anything wrong with the quartz movement? Thanks.
Well, the big 40 is around the corner and I'd like to get a PAM to celebrate the occasion. I went into the Madison Ave boutique today to try on a few Panerai. I came away impressed by both the 372 and 424 Cali dial. What gorgeous pieces! In fact, too nice... can't really decide between the two.My first hurdle was making sure they didn't look ridiculous on my 6.5 wrist. My wrists are very flat and they both looked much better than expected. See pics below. My first inclination is toward the 424 Cali dial. Love the dial layout and the fact that it wears smaller than the 372 despite both being 47mm. However, I'm a sucker for plexi and the no-date dial on the 372 is so, so clean.I can only afford one, so no buy both comments!Although that seems to be the solution to my problem. Thoughts? Advice? Which would you go for?424 with the sweet Cali dial372 with the plexiSide by side...
