Hello everyone. Looking for advice on buying a watch for myself in the $100-150 price range (college kid best I can do lol) I got two specifics as to what I like in a watch: Leather bands only, numbers not a big fan of just dashes. I have been looking on Amazon at watches don't know if that's a good place to shop, advice on that? now I will post some pictures so y'all can see what I like. I was looking at Hamilton's 1969 price list recently. The price for the consumer was marked up 100%. This is probably still the case today. You would think consumers would be able to negotiate the price the same as is done when shopping for a car. This may be the practice, as I've never bought a watch from any AD, as I only buy vintage on eBay. What kind of discount is likely when purchasing a new watch? (Just trying to educate myself in the event I ever buy something new. )

I am awaiting an incoming Zodiac Automatic from falcon4311, but in the meantime I decided to wear the vintage.I bought this watch in January for $275 and sent it for overhaul to a Watchmaker who specialized in vintage swiss. It ran me $320, but the watch required balance wheel be repaired. Its nothing special, relatively small at 35mm wide, but does have incabloc is anti-magnetic and was waterfroof at the time. The watch keeps such perfect time I can't believe it. But the reason I have fallen in love again is the special sound the movement makes. I had forgotten, but have been holding her to my ear again before going to bed and I remember! The balance wheels hairspring makes a very pronounced springa-springa sound that is just sweet.
