Breitling ab015212/g724-2cd wrist watches news:
Baselworld is the peak time of year for the launch of new watches. But every so often it also serves as the coming-out party for a new brand that¡¯s entering the market. Such is the case for Angelus, a name with serious watchmaking history. Angelus was a Swiss brand of some repute until (like many of its compatriots) it was wiped out by the quartz revolution in the 1970s. Now it¡¯s making a return under notable new management. At Baselworld, Angelus will launch with its first new watch, the U10 Tourbillon Lumi¨¨re. But in order to appreciate this accomplishment, we have to take a look at where the brand comes from.Angelus was founded by the brothers Albert and Gustav Stolz in 1891, in Le Locle. The Stolzes had studied under Henri Sandoz of the Tavannes Watch Company, and began their own company at a time when the watch business was booming. In the coming decades they established Angelus as a respected maker of both watches and watch movements. By the 1930s, its chronographs had become a m
I have read the threads on the American Made watch companies, but I wanted to know when each one of the big US companies either switched to Swiss / China / Japan, or when the company went under. For example, from my research I understand that Hamilton stopped producing watch that we made in America, of American made parts, in 1969. So what about Timex, Bulova, Elgin, Waltham, Gruen, Pulsar, etc, etc. I am doing research on this topic and any information you can provide would be great.Chris
Hi,I have an Elgin grade 64 from 1883. It was sold to me as 6s, also in the internet pocket watch database it says size 6. But the watch measures approximately 36,4 mm. So shouldn't this be more size 8? I tried to put the movement in a case, which was sold to me on ebay as size 6. The movement didn't fit. I also have an Elgin grade 45, also listed with size 6 in the database, which is a little smaller. So my question: are the informations on the internet wrong? Or did the sizes change during the time? Which case do I have to look for? Thanks for teaching me.Cheers,MarcoBy the way: if anyone has a fitting case, feel free to contact me. I repaired, cleaned and oiled the watch and it is keeping terrific time for a 131 year old granny :-D

Im curious of thoughts and opinions on New vs Used for a Omega Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch/Sapphire Sandwich.I have been looking for a while and i havent been able to readily find a used Sapphire Sandwich 3573.50 and the more recent 311.30.42.30.01.006 .I really enjoy the large box with all the accessories the new watch comes with, and would love to find this set in gently used condition. But New vs Used there is a good price difference. Is this just an opinion based answer? Thanks for the thoughts in advance.
