- I got this watch as a gift for my birthday. I saw it in an add and wanted it but upon arrival the diamonds on the face were so minuscule you cannot see them with the naked eye. The diamond sits inside of a round metal circle that I believe is supposed to mimic a diamond itself, but it detracts from the beauty of the watch. The metal rounds are too and the "diamonds" are way too . They should have used ger diamonds,eliminated the metal it sits in and charged more or left them off the face all together. The diamond-like metal and the puny diamonds make the face look kind of cheap. It's like they're trying to make the watch look like it has diamonds form a distance.

Need help with an Elgin model 430.
I acquired a ladies Elgin a while back in a group of watches. I wasn't much interested in it until I happened to look up the movement # and found it was produced in my father's birthyear. Anyone interested in playing wrist watch serial # liar's poker?My father passed three years ago so I thought my step mother might like the watch as a memento. I cleaned everything up. The movement had a broken balance staff so I transplanted a donor. My problem is the donor balance had a tweaked hairspring. So far I have had terrible luck trying to reform an overcoil or flatten a stretched hairspring and this one is no exception. Can anyone point me to a source for a new one? I would also like to replace the mainspring. Mainspring specifications are still like a foreign language to me. What are the magic numbers and end types for an Elgin 430? Would you recommended installing a + strength spring and is such a thing available?Thanks, Joel

AP "Equation of time" dial change: Royal Oak/Juels Audemars
Hey Guys,Im about to purchase my very first AP. I have gone throw the model lineup and discovered that the model i want does not quite exist. I would like to have the Royal Oak Equation of Time (.audemarspiguet/en/wat...uation-of-time) but with the skeleton dial from the Juels Audemars collection (.audemarspiguet/en/wat...T.OO.D002CR.01). The calibre 2120/2808 is the same on both models. I have not yet approached AP with my idea. What do you guys think, is it technically feasible and what the reaction from AP would be? will they even allow it even if its possible?I also made some photoshopping of how the watch will look. I havent decided yet whether whether i want it in steel or gold so i made both versions. I also changed the brown strap to black one on the gold version. Stop too quickly?
hey guysi noticed that my 15400 tend to stop pretty quickly comparing to the winding i gave it. I counted around 30 rounds and it only last about 1 1/2 days. i don't know if i did it wrong, but shouldn't right, just unwind it till it pops and wind it clockwise. it happens 2 days in a row. but i remember when i first bought it the salesman winded it and that winding was good for 3 days.do you guys have the same problem and any comment on this issue?
