Years of being a watch lover has allowed them to appreciate "must-have" novelties, as well as the desirability of traditional items. Years of study are required before fully understanding what goes into the value of a high-end luxury purchases ($20,000, and up, and way way up). This helps create an understanding of those watches which are worth their high cost in terms of value, and those that, while expensive, are a mere emotional purchase with less than stellar?post-purchase value. Watch enthusiast James Kirkland catches up with Kindler & Thorpe’s Paul Thorpe to ask about their exciting new arrival and soon to be released “Trafalgar Panerai”.Paul, can tell us something about your latest creation, the “Trafalgar Panerai”“This is a watch that has been in the planning process for a very long time. In fact, it will be the result of an idea that first came to me toward the end of 2010.“It spent weeks on the drawing board, being designed and then re-designed.“Without a doubt, this watch has spent more time on the drawing board than anything else that we have produced to date and I think we discarded more than a dozen pencilled proposals before settling on the final design. Why did this particular design take so long?“We wanted to create something very historical but at the same time, something that was very modern. A careful blend of two periods coming together.“ I think we have a watch that will appeal to

Can anyone help me identifying these two Omegas, which has been my grandmothers.
I just pulled the trigger on my second Rolex. Three days ago I saw a 116710LN brand new at the Rolex boutique in the Saint Germaine area. They had just got it in that morning and rather than pull the trigger I decided to think about it. Went back this morning to purchase it and it had sold. Walked out mad at myself for not pulling the trigger. My wonderful wife said call around. I started calling all the other dealers in Paris with no luck. On the last call to Wempe we were in luck. Gave them my name and rushed over in the pouring rain. They had received the watch yesterday morning and it was still in it¡¯s shipping package. Pulled the trigger on the spot. Here is a pic of it at the louvre.
