Vacheron Constantin announces a new model: the Malte Moon Phase and Power-Reserve. The barrel-shaped case measures a generous 39 x 49mm. The dial is adorned with five different finishes. The inner zone features a silvered, finely hand-guilloch¨¦ ¡°Clous de Paris¡± or hobnail motif. The outer zone is decorated with a vertical satin-brushed finish, also silvered. The minute circle, the power-reserve display as well as the inscriptions Vacheron Constantin Gen¨¨ve and Swiss Made are all transferred, while the seconds subdial at 6 o¡¯clock is circular satin-brushed. And finally, the minute-circle and power-reserve zones are screen-printed in white. Went into London to enquire about buying a Speedy Pro this lunchtime
..and came away ordering a Planet Ocean!!!! (45.5mm Black with White numerals on Bracelet)Gotta wait approx 3 weeks for it as the AD is having to order it in for me (only had the smaller size in the colour I wanted or the Big size with Orange numerals).I don't mind as the assistant gave me a ¡ê200 discount (which I figured wasn't too bad for a large jeweller in London, and with it not being a display model)All in all I am a very happy man!

NAWCC - Teaching others we teach ourselves.
Well to-morrow, Friday is my last day as a guest curator at the museum, I suspect most of you think that studying and learning so much about Horology in that time would have been my greatest satisfaction, and indeed it was an amazing learning experience.But what keeps on coming to my mind is "Teaching others we teach ourselves" That has been my greatest learning experience here at the Museum in Columbia, that and the wonderful people I met.From the staff, to the wonderful volunteers to the visitors, to the many kind citizens of Columbia that would stop and offer me a kind gesture.It brings me back to who I believe was one of your greatest Presidents - John F. Kennedy, that in his inaugural speech spoke these wonderful words "Ask not what your country can do for you - ask what you can do for your country."He also went on to say: "All this will not be finished in the first 100 days. Picked up a daily wearer
I have the 422. GREAT watch. Felt it perhaps was not a great daily wearer though. A bit big and flashy for my line of work. The leather straps are just tough to work with in the Florida summer heat, at the beach, playing golf. The 422 looks wrong to me on the rubber strap. A great nighttime, weekend watch or for days when not exposed to the elements. So, I wanted a second watch and re-purchased (arrgh) the one I always regretted letting go, the GMTIIC. Will be my daily wearer and I hope will allow me to appreciate even more strapping on the 422 whenever I can. The GMTIIC came via a great transaction at the Rolex boutique, Millenia Mall in Orlando. Considered the black and blue bezel but that color combo just does not do anything for me. Pic is of my old one.
