Although I understand its not everyone's cup of tea, I have to admit that the Omega SeaMaster 300M Diver Commander's Watch is very beautiful in real life (at least in my opinion).I have had mine for a week and very pleased with it.Here are a couple of pics, on original and Black/Grey NATO straps.What do you think ?John

Anyone Catch NCIS (Omega Plug)
Special Agent Anthony Dinozzo as switched to a new Omega Planet Ocean with the Orange Bezel. He used to Sport a Submariner. Not sure why the ¡°down grade¡±. But whatever reason they sure showed the watch up close and personal at least 3 times that I saw.In the movie 'Minority Report', Detective John Anderton, played by Tom Cruise, sported a Speedmaster Professional X-33, while another Cruise incarnation in War of the Worlds saw his a vintage Omega chronograph stop as the aliens touched down on Earth. We all know the Bond switch was paid for by Omega but are all these others paid for as well or does this happen to be the Actors watch? Aquanaut choice, 5167/1A or 5164A ?
I know there have been several threads on this, so apologies for yet another. It's more to bring all the relevant facts into one place for me.I have a 5711 blue bought new from my local dealer last August (a week before the price rise, which surprised me!). I now have the option of either a 5167/1A or 5164A for my 2nd Patek. I also own several Rolex, including Hulk, SD, Explorer and BLNR GMT. As I see it:5167/1A+ves: choice of bracelet or rubber, cleaner dial, ?10k cheaper, cheaper servicing, slimmer on the wrist-ves: identical case and movement to the 5711 (I think), some say the date breaks up the dial, some say less balanced case (as no pushers on left)5164/A+ves: different & more complex movement, arguably more balance dial and case, GMT function if needed, no date window (to break up dial), globe sub dial adds a nice touch but could be busy, slightly beefier case giving more heft on wrist-ves: ?10k more (alot for a GMT function), option of rubber only, more expensi

AP 26400 FC for Patek 5164 ??
Simple proposition is on the table. Would have to add a few K. Would you? Any thoughts would be appreciated. For full disclosure I do have a 5980r and AP diver both of which would stay.I posted the same question over at the AP forum so if you've chimed in there I appreciate it. TIA for all the opinions.

What do you tell your friends
So I wore the 5167 out on the town on Friday night for some drinks and dancing with friends. In doing so, I created some interesting dance moves to keep people from banging into my watch lol. But anyways, one of my friends was noticing my attire and asked what kinda shirt/pants/shoes I was wearing...then he noticed the watch and asked what kind of watch it was. After I mentioned it was a Patek, having no idea what it was, he asked... and how much was it? My question is, do you guys tell people how much your watches really cost, or do you tell a little white lie to keep from alienating them? I hate getting the statements like why would you buy something like that? or if I had that money I would....blah blah blahIm pretty sure Im not the only one who has to deal with this...so what do you guys do?
