Harry Winston AVSQTZ38WW009 wrist watches news:
I thought long and hard about a GMTIIC last November when I bought my LV. Agressive pricing and a very friendly local dealer, who let me stare at the watch on the counter for around a half hour while I was trying to make up my mind, made it very tempting. This story illustrates one of the reasons I stayed in the Sub family with my LV...(URL to other forum deleted as 'mdrums' kindly re-posted his story in an identical post below. Gents, thank you for sharing this interesting story with us)
Hi, I'm new to this forum and was needing a little help from anyone. My dad got a watch in the late 70's early 80's from his dad as a gift. This is his dress watch and has never worn it more than just about once a month since he got it. I remember playing with it when I was little. Now my grandpa has been gone since 1989 and my dad treasures this watch. Last month he hit his watch on something and broke the face. The watch face is not a circle or a oval shape. Can anyone help me out? I am wanting to send it off to get it repaired for him, but I cannot find a single piece of info on it through the internet.I could not get a clearer picture. The numbers on the back are H239-5070 and the serial number is 138378.
First hello all :) !!!I've been reading for quite some time this forum and really enjoy it. Four years after my addiction to horology began I finally find something I'll definitely keep for looong time :). I went from Tissot PR50 and PRC200 to RaymondWeil Tradition and other similiar pieces, now when I discovered the exquisite world of vintage watches I can say that this is an experience that can not be described with words (or atleast with my english vocabulary :P). It's simply passion. The reason for my joy is a vintage Longines Conquest (from 1959, cal. 19ASD) watch that I aquired today. It costed me ~260$. From what I've learned from you guys (for which I'm really greatful) I see that it has the original dial, original glass with the cyclops, original crown, the golden fish with enamel water logo. The only thing that bothers me is the glass which has some deep scratches. Should I change it or they can be fixed ? The strap is also a junk and I'll search for something more appropriate
When this Eco-Drive Infusion arrived, it didn't do much for me, and I thought it was because of the black resin band. Boy was I right! I picked up this extremely inexpensive NATO style band, and it gives it a whole new look. I think this is a NATO style band, but I don't really know the difference between NATO bands and ZULU bands. I didn't take any photos with the original band, but they can be seen in my other threads asking for advice about a strap/band.I have another strap on the way that is just like this one, except it is has red stripes instead of gray. I'm interested to see how that looks.IMG_9490.jpg
Just curious how many Patek Philippe we have in our collections. I went from 3 down to 1 this year.
