Harry Winston Histoire de Tourbillon 1 Watch: Homage To Star Wars' Tusken Raiders?
Is it weird that I sometimes compare watches with things I know in pop culture? I find it especially gratifying to compare exclusive multi-hundred thousand dollar timepieces with such plebeian pop culture essentials as the Tusken Raider Sand People from the Star Wars universe. Really though, look at the face of this Harry Winston Histoire de Tourbillon No. 1 and tell me that it does not (at least vaguely) remind you of the face of the Sand People (Person?). I see the axis points of the two tourbillon escapements akin to the eyes, and the dial as being similar to the circular Sand Person desert mask mouth. There are also the vertical slits that are present on both the watch and the Tusken Raider¡¯s facial garb. Seems like a pretty good fit to me. If you recall, a while ago I also discussed the best watches for Darth Vader here, and there of course there was the MB&F Horological Machine No. 3 that had a resemblance to 3-CPO. I don¡¯t think it is me, I think the watch makers are doing

WWII era soldier's watch?

Breitling B-1 Limited Edition Question
I have the opportunity to purchase a Limited Edition Breitling B1 with box and papers. It's called the B-1 US Navy Adversary watch. According to a website that I visited, there were only 25 of these watches made. The watch has been worn but is in good shape. Two questions. Does anyone have any additional information on the watch, and can anyone tell me what this watch is worth?Here's a Wikipedia link to some information about the logo on the left of the watch face.And here's an image of the watch.

Will the 5140-G/J/R become a collectible ?
I was a frequent visitor to TRF (and the PP Boutique ! ) last year when I bought myself several PP's, including a 5140-G (white dial) as an every day wearer. I have recently been re-thinking my collection and decided to sell off a few of the discontinued classics to make way for some alternatives.. This has brought me back to TRF after an absence, which has led to the discovery that my trusty 5140-G is no longer in production. I thought that the 5140 was a real classic which would stay around rather longer. Does anyone know why the gold models were discontinued (leaving only the 5140P), and what has replaced them ?Oddly, a quick search threw up a post dated only a couple of weeks ago on another forum, in which someone was agonising between buying a new 5140-G and -J from an AD. I thought stocks were pretty limited even when in production, so it seems strange to see AD's still selling them. I wonder whether it is now attracting a discount (or perhaps a premium ?) once discontinued.

What is Buckley dial
I have my watch to get service. It is around 30 year plus, got it from my dad. The watch service told me this is Buckley dial. I search and found many people talk about Buckley dial.
