......from the ball game?
Dear forum members,I recently bought an Omega, which I think looks great. Though I suspect not all parts (or even few) are original. It is 37 mm, and the dial is rounded towards the edges. Was it maybe originally a pocket watch? It would be nice to know more about the watch. Could you give me some ideas based on these images? What do you think would have been a reasonable price?Kind regards,Erik203843744_83226ee2-9cbc-44a4-a988-f42ecf4ea47b.jpg203843744_24e8b9b5-1014-4e37-a8ce-9b1b5fd344ea.jpg203843744_6e6059df-732a-4e22-a123-a8fc2ff598d4.jpg203843744_3b435e64-eebb-4695-a735-b0990c81e06d.jpg203843744_b1e26b8c-1dad-4702-bc94-74b26981319e.jpg
I am trying to identify this pocketwatch, can anyone throw in? It has a patterned outer like 1950's and the serial number 760196 as an SA. I have not explored the movement "yet".
This is very neat watch. From a company like Elgin which produced millions of watches it seems, this one is very unusual, and Bryan Girouard, from whom I purchased it, told me he's never seen another (that says a lot, from someone as expert in Deco era watches as he is). It's a slim and long (21 x 39mm) early steel tank (case made by Wadsworth) with distinctive brick pattern on the bezel, and continued onto the Kestenmade rice link mesh and expansion bracelet, clearly designed to go with the watch. It sports the 15 jewel Elgin grade 484 movement. Some new photos:
Next year Seiko is releasing more new models with 4R35 movement. These are supposed to be a more affordable version of 6R15. I wonder how many of us here are still waiting to see maybe a 4R36, a hacking, winding day date to replace the 7s26/36. Wouldnt it be so cool to see Monsters and SKX007 with a hacking day date calibre?
