Corum Admiral's Cup Deep Hull 48 Limited Edition Watch
It is big and it goes down pretty deep. It is also the first real diver's watch from Corum that I can think of (aside from a few dive style Corum Bubble watches). This is the new for 2010 Admiral's Cup Deep Hull 48 watch from Corum, and it is rather interesting, though I have some thoughts on it overall. The Admiral's Cup line has been very good to the brand, and over the last few years Corum has been refining it a lot. More models, lots of variety, and a furtherance of making them look more manly as opposed to colorful (which was the classic look with all the colored flags). Today's Admiral's Cup watches share very little in common with the originals. Here, the flags are barely still there in monochromatic glory. The real standout features of an Admiral's Cup watch is its 12 sided case and bezel.The Deep Hull 48 is in a 48mm wide titanium case, and is actually weighty for titanium. Weirdest thing you've traded for a watch?
I know most 'normal' people buy watches, but that's boring! Trading goods for goods is the oldest sort of economic transaction, and I plan on keeping that alive!I haven't done much 'trading', but there is one watch I remember.When I was in elementary school there was a kid in a grade above me that had the most bada** watch ever, it was a batman quartz that glowed in the dark and would light up if you pressed a button on the side. I so wanted that thing you couldn't believe Eventually I worked out a deal with him, 4 moonpies. The school had outlawed selling 'junk food' in the cafeteria so I had to smuggle them in. We did the deal and I was the proud owner of the most awesome watch a 6 (7?) year old had ever seen.Of course, a few weeks later it failed it's trial by water, oh well.So what are some of your stories? And what are the most popular things traded for watches? Gold? Silver? Antiques?

Help in ID these two watches by name
I inherited two watches from my Grandfather#1 pocket watch with no cover signed "F. C. Bode & Son#2 wristwatc signed in script Grogan Co.I believe both watches are 18kt gold cases. Has antone heard of these companies? I have to take some photos to post. Thanks

I had wanted one of these for a very long time. Mostly because of what it is and who made it. JLC are among the best placed manufactures to make such a watch. They have contributed movements to many celebrated Ultra thin watches over the years. Including the Famed V C ultra thin.Le Coultre was the inventor of the original Milionometer , enabling mechanical measurement down to 1/1000th of a millimeter .The enormous work and thought that has gone in to creating one of the simplest, thinnest and most elegant timepieces I have ever seen, is mind numbing. The movement itself measures 1.8mm. The whole watch 4.2mm. The whole thing is carried off with an air of grandure which belies the minimalism of the piece.I am pleased to have the black dial, it looks magnificent but is extremely reflective and and very difficult to photograph. In the end the photos fail to do it justice.I won't go on about the spec it is all available on this link, and much more thoroughly than I could manage.indepth.watc
