Invicta 1094 wrist watches news:
On April 14 and 15 this year, 18 students from six Swiss watchmaking schools took part in the second Patek Philippe Artisanship and Precision Competition. The winners were honored on May 28, 2011, during a celebration at the Patek Philippe Museum in the presence of Patek Philippe President Thierry Stern as well as Robert Anguenot and Daniel Rochat. The competition affirms Patek Philippe’s intention to build solid, long-lasting partnerships with Swiss watchmaking schools. The idea behind the competition originates from a joint initiative involving staff members of the Patek Philippe departments for watch manufacturing, international customer support, human resources, sales & marketing, and administration as well as of the Patek Philippe Museum.A Competition to Discover New Watchmaking TalentThe competition is part of a training initiative and its theme reflects Patek Philippe’s fundamental values of artisanship and precision, as reflected in the requirements of the Patek
This is the first Benrus alarm watch I won and it is back from the watch guy. I did all the pictures here: Just Got My Benrus Alarm Watch-with videoI just wanted to post the alarm video here in the American forum. Needless to say, I'm more than happy as it looks better than me at about the same age I'm guessing it is from the early sixties, but a search for "Series 3021", which is on the back, doesn't really provide a so1:lid date. If you have a better idea, let me know. The watch repair guy said it was a Swiss, 17 jewel manual movement under the crystal.
Just read that the Chile earthquake shifted the earth slightly off-axis and changed its rotation. As a result. every day will now be shorter by 1.26 millionth of second. Please keep that in mind when you check the accuracy of your quartz watches :D
I know I am somewhat partial since my 5960 has round pushers, but I cannot help but think thatas nice as 5970/5070 are with square pushers, the round pushers just ooze that classic look.3970, 2499 (3rd & 4th series), 5960, 5004, ......hmm. ..hmm......gotta love 'em ;)BTW, I am wearing my 'round pushers' today in the office, just as I type this :)It is obvious that guys that own a reference with round pushers (like me and my 5960) will be biased to those, and those that own square pushers will say otherwise. But I am curious to hear just for fun especially from those guys that do not own any PP chrono,Which type of pushers do you prefer and why ?Have a great weekend everyone !!PS: Arthur, as you can see crazy shirts are not only for 3970 owners :D
A couple of years ago I had a second generation Gevril Sea Cloud. I used it as a tool watch but when I got a TT Sub I sent it on its way. I always missed that watch it just felt right on my wrist where the Sub always felt a little off. So I ditched the Sub and picked up a Yacht-Master to go along with my pepsi GMT II. That left me without a Tool watch/ beater so I went looking for another Gevril. I found a GMT Sea Cloud on auction on Shop**C and I won it. I am very excited about getting the watch so i can put the rolex's in my Gun safe and use my Gevril as everyday wear watch. Will post snaps when i get it.
