Halios watches probably needs little introduction on worn&wound. Over the last few years, the Vancouver based dive watch brand has earned a reputation for making great, unique watches. We previously reviewed two versions of their Tropik watches, one in bronze and the other in steel, both of which earned high regards from us. Hi. I have just been looking at the forum and have to say I am impressed by the knowledge and enthusiasm of the posters! I am in the early stages of buying my first luxury watch (or any watch really) and had narrowed it down to a Breitling (super avenger or super ocean chrono) and then I saw the IWCs. I like the Portuguese Chrono Steel (blue) 371417 or in black 371438 and the Pilots Classic Chrono 371701. i prefer straps to bracelets. My real questions are firstly which would you recommend (i know they are both excellent watches and is down to personal taste) and more importantly what sort of price level do they come in at? I am based in london so have looked at the ADs but am interested to see what they would cost new from and AD in the US (ideally NY). Would you recommend buying in the US rather than locally? Would this cause resale issues (assuming you could get it off my wrist)? Any advice / help greatly appreciated.

Do you ever happen-upon an eSwamp listing that makes you smile? I saw this one today.220727834925. The best part about it is that the seller is one of the authors of the watch "Bible". It's no wonder why that book is SO dreadful, and arguably the worst watch book ever publishedonly exceeded in its dreadfulness by even more substantial dribble the following year. "Winds at 6or is it 12"??? CLARIFICATION: I did take my first "bible" on a overnight hike once and found great use for it. The thin paper is very handy when deep in the woods!

Winding Stem with a H on it
Hello again it has be a awhile since I visited here.My father Hamilton watch, a Sherwood circa 1951, has an H on the winding knob(stem?). I have be told that this is NOT original. Is this true?Thanks again, great website.Chuck A.

Steel Fish crown & Tube in need of repair
Guy's my good friends crown and i think he said tube became damaged, it's the last version steel fish. Anyone here on the forum can fix it? He was quoted a lot of dough! Any help will be greatly appreciated! Sab.
