West Coast Hamiltons
I spent the weekend out in the LA area and visited an antique flea market in Long Beach on Sunday. There were a fair amount of watch dealers with quite a few vintage Hammies. I got to see both an original and a quartz Piping Rock. I saw an original Ventura. The dealer called the Ventura the Ward Cleaver watch, saying that Hugh Beaumont wore one on Leave It to Beaver. I thought it odd that I hadn't heard of this before since the Hamilton-Hollywood connection has been discussed. I didn't buy any Hammies, but it was good to see the vintage watches in person so I have a better feel for the sizes.

Vintage Patek Care
Greetings. First post be kind. Photo is of my grandfather's Patek that was given to me as a gift prior to my wedding. The watch was serviced and I wore it only once on my wedding day. Since that magic day, the watch has been sitting in a safety deposit box for twenty years. My question is can I wind the watch now without doing damage? Should I service the watch first? I have lately developed the watch bug and I would like to wear the Patek maybe a couple times a year. Hesitant to do an expensive service for such limited use. Any information the forum can provide about the watch is much appreciated. Thanks
