Ulysse Nardin Elects New Management
At an extraordinary general meeting held on April 27, Ulysse Nardin elected Chai Schnyder to become the new president of the Board of Directors. At the same time, the committee appointed Patrik P. Hoffmann to the position of CEO as successor of Rolf W. Schnyder. Rolf W. Schnyder, president and CEO of Ulysse Nardin, passed away unexpectedly on April 14th, 2011. Chai Schnyder, the widow of Rolf, holds a Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering (Queen’s University Belfast, United Kingdom).Patrik Hoffmann has spent the main part of his professional career in the watch sector, and has been a leading member of staff at Ulysse Nardin for many years. He joined the company in 1999. As director of the U.S. corporate offices in Boca Raton, Florida, Hoffmann played a significant role in the success of Ulysse Nardin in North and Central America.The shareholders, the Board of Directors and the Executive Management will pursue Rolf W. Chanel J12 Marine Watch
Say hello to my new little friend. Not that Chanel let me walk away with one, but I wanted to. Call me a brand whore but I love what Chanel has done with their watches. Sure I might think twice about sporting a white one around town, but these new J12 Marine watches are pretty impressive. If you recall, the standard J12 watch looks like a dive watch. It is merely a dive "style" piece, based on the core Rolex Submariner design (with a different face of course). Now Chanel released a truer diver with 300 meters of water resistant, a more dive worthy legible dial, some interesting design features.The case is 38 or 42mm wide and in black of white. Still ceramic, the black case is bead-blasted for a matte, rather than shiny finish. Though the white version is still done with a glossy finish. Going after Blancpain's 50 Fathoms or IWC's Aquatimer, the J12 Marine has a sapphire crystal over the rotating diver's bezel. I love that look, but it is not for everyone. The case quality is very good,

Sub with NATO or leather straps
Well it is almost summer now and I am bored with my one and only one Sub for the last few years. I would like to make some changes without spending too much money. I am just wondering if anyone has a photo of a Sub with NATO straps or leather straps. BTW, has anyone ever tried to use a Panerai style of straps on his Sub?

Just received my Frederique Constant Moonphase watch and it is damaged : (
Very beautiful watch, in fact, the most awesome feeling and looking watch I have ever worn. Then as I was taking pictures, I saw it. Gouging left of the crown.Luckily, free returns and the UPS guy will be here Wednesday. Unfortunately, this was their last one.While it is hard to see, left of the crown, there are about 8 deep scratches or gouges.So, I guess I'll keep looking.
