Longines L4.691.6.11.6 wrist watches news:
Hey guys...A friend of mine told me that IWC is far superior than Omega....and their prices are way higher than omega!!!!!So which one has the ebst watches....in terms of accuracy. How do you justify the IWC's high prices???
I'm off tomorrow so I'm in search of a strap for my Khaki mechanical.I wore out the OEM strap long ago and replaced it with this gray Nato but I have finally concluded that I'm not a big fan of Nato straps. They look perfect for a military style watch but they just don't quite "do it" for me. (and after wearing them for a while in the summer they can get.....funky!!!)I'll probably look for a brown strap with that distressed look. If I can't find one I'll get a regular brown calfskin strap and beat the daylights out of it when I get home and create my own distressed look!!Heres the before pic.The after will be tomorrow (hopefully)
Took a trip to my local junk shop and found a whole bunch of watches in a giant box. Found an Elgin Sportsman, all titanium, still works, in good shape, fits perfectly, for $20. Needless to say, I bought it. Nothing special but I'll post some pics anyways.
Hey guys, I have been confused about one thing and I have yet to get a clear answer about this subject. If you search the web you will find many reputable web sites that sell real Omega's, Tag's, etc. My questions is:How do these web sites get these watches if the watch maker only sells to authorized dealers and advises consumers to buy from authorized dealers?
Why is there a shortage of SS sports models? 20 years ago it seemed like every AD had doubles of every SS sports model and was readily offering discounts. Is it that the current typical buyer is more sporty in fashion and taste? As in, the older generation would pick something on a strap or something like a Datejust? It appears to my untrained eye that Rolex isn't meeting demand. Are they disconnected to the economic trends? Perhaps, not too concerned - being a charity?Or, maybe they are shrewder then they appear - letting out SS models at a trickle, further pushing up their brand?
