Ive got a Breitling Aerospace Titanium that was given to the military pilots after the MS Estonia accident. One of twelve made.It got a special dial and some paper proving it from Breitling. It was rarely worn by the pilot and box and papers are complete.Do you think its worth more then a normal Aerospace, or do Breitling do this spacial series all the time, making it nothing special? For those of you who dont remember MS Estonia.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS_EstoniaThe accident claimed 852 lives (501 Swedes, 285 Estonians, 17 Latvians, 10 Finns and 44 people of other nationalities: 1 from Belarus, 1 from Canada, 1 from France, 1 from the Netherlands, 1 from Nigeria, 1 from Ukraine, 1 from United Kingdom, 2 from Morocco, 3 from Lithuania, 5 from Denmark, 6 from Norway, 10 from Germany, 11 from Russia), by drowning and hypothermia, (the water temperature was 10¡ãC–11 ¡ãC/50–52 ¡ãF). One prominent victim of the sinking was the popular Estonian singer Urmas Alender. 93 bodies were reco
Disclaimer - I'm not brand-bashing here!! Genuine thoughts with full honesty as always. Please don't hate me for it.I'm feeling like there's something not right with me. I've had a lot of watches. A lot. I've been collecting for a long time now, but only recently purchased my first PP. An Aquanaut 5167 on rubber. This watch is everything I didn't expect but in such a good way. I keep saying that the Nautilus has never appealed, but I was expecting, now I've got the Aquanaut, I would try a Nautilus and desperately want one. I understand more about the finishing, overall quality etc now and I'm hooked. So yesterday, I managed to try a 5712 on at a used watch store. In the display case it looked more appealing than the last time I saw one (PPPIMC - Pre-Patek Philippe in my collection ) but as soon as I popped it on my wrist, I really wasn't at all enamoured with it. Not even slightly.I have a 6.75 wrist and found it wore a little awkward, although not terribly so. The dial, IMO just seemed
Let's assume the numbers are all in line, which they are. I don't necessarily want to pay cash for this watch but I'm being offered it and if I do it it's going to be in trade toward something I own.Pros:1. The White dial is close to my Wife's 7018 so we'll nearly have matching Nautiluses. (Hers is a little more silvery and doesn't have an AC or moonphase)2. I like the white dial, A LOT.3. It's another Patek. Cons:1. Give up my Rose Gold SkyDweller for it? This is a very heavy watch that doesn't get as much use as my RG Daytona. But it's also precious metal as opposed to the 5726 stainless steel. Also has an annual calendar which for a Rolex is a big deal.2. I already own a 5726, Black Dial with Tiffany stamp on strap that I CANNOT let go of. Is it crazy to own two identical models just with different dials and strap/bracelet combos?
Manly beach in australia is beautiful! Enjoy!
