Michele MWW03F000038 wrist watches news:
Shawn H. from Simi Valley, California was the lucky winner of the Mark Carson Hawaii Ka La watch that was the watches-dealer giveaway piece in August. Here are his thoughts and wrist shots:The human mind is a complicated thing. Upon entering The watches-dealer Giveaway, I left a positive comment and I said that I was going to win the Individual Design Mark Carson Ka La Watch. ?How did I know that? ?I'm not quite sure. Because, to be honest, I thought to myself that it was a pretty nice watch. ?But, it's not a watch that I would spend my hard earned money on.Long after forgetting about this watch, I received an email from Ariel Adams that I was the winner. ?I couldn't Google fast enough to see which watch that I had won. ?I said to myself, " Oh yeah, I remember that watch". ?So, I started learning as much as I could about this watch. ?And before the excitement wore off, I was in love with it. ?So, now the wait began. ?Mark Carson was away from his home on the Hawaiian Islands, where the
You know that I have been economically deluded by the watch world when I hear that a watch costs around $35,000, only to think, "that sounds like a really good price." Not that I can afford it, I just wouldn't expect an 18k rose gold-cased Audemars Piguet watch with an in house chronograph movement to go for that "low" of a price. I must have luxo-fever. But for $35,000 you can't go too wrong with this beautiful chronograph version of Audemars Piguet's lovely Millenary watch. The sorta asymmetric is not off-centered as it might appear. Two oblong circles overlap to create that interesting look that Audemars Piguet perfected. Though, the chronograph version does actually have some off-centered dials. The standard Millenary watch uses the two circles for the minute or the hours. This version uses the outer circle cleverly as a tachymeter. It is not the most elegant application of a tachymeter scale, but it works. The dial has everything in the right place, though it does come across as th
I posted these pictures on couple of other forums, so why shouldn't I post them here as well? Please enjoy and thanks for looking.Magdalion
To celebrate what I believe will be a promotion today I'm looking for a watch. I found a Maurice Lacroix PT 6068 and immediately fell in love with it. It had everything. GMT, Guilloche, Leather/bracelet, Exhibition case back with a cool design around the sapphire crystal, ETA movement and the works. I bid higher than I've ever bid on a watch before and lost by $5.00 this morning. I'm upset but it has me on a quest to mark this occasion with my nicest watch to date. I wanted to show the watch first because I absolutely love it.Maybe this picture is better:SoWhat do you think? I love it. I need one like it but I can't justify the purchase at retail and they don't come up on ebay all that often. Is there anything like it from a classy brand like ML? I was willing to spend $500 on this watch but lost it. I'm looking for modern and dress since I have some divers and vintage. Swiss movement is necessary, and I love exhibition case backs + guilloche!
My Omega Speedmaster Grey side of the moon watch fell from a short distance onto a hard floor and the bottom crown/pusher side lug got chipped as you can see in the following pictures. I brought the watch to the Omega service center in NYC and they advised me that the only option is to replace the entire case at a cost of roughly $7000. I obviously didn't choose that option because that is pretty much the cost to replace the entire watch. They stated that the couldn't confirm whether the watch was structurally sound due to the proximity of where the chip occurred to where the spring bar inserts into the case. Mechanically they stated the watch was 0.5 seconds a day fast. With that accuracy I could only assume the fall if anything improved the accuracy since that is better than I could have hoped for on any timepiece. What I am left with is a mechanically sound, structurally uncertain watch with a noticeable chip to the naked eye. I could live with the chip as a battle wound if I kne
