Montblanc Star Chronograph 36038 Stainless Steel Bezel White Dial Watch

Single YGF Waltham Watch Case looking for elegable movement. Object matrimony.
Last month an auction for a WALTHAM VINTAGE ART DECO CASE AND DIAL OF WATCH caught my eye. There was a frontal pic of the assembled case and a short description ¨C ¡°WALTHAM ART DECO CASE AND TWO TONE DIAL. CASE MEASURES 36mm X 28mm¡±. The seller was from Israel (not an Empress) and had good feedback so I took a shot and here¡¯s what I got.I figured from the dimensions that it would fit a 6/0 size movement and it does. It¡¯s a Star case but is not marked Waltham. It is 10k RGP with a stainless back. I would guess it¡¯s from the 30s. The design is a little out there for Waltham. I could see it more as a Bulova. I really like it though and think it will make a gorgeous watch. The paint on the dial is a might crude. Some bleeding under the edges of the mask. My only problem with it is it doesn¡¯t fit onto any of the variants of a model 1942 which is the only 6/0 size Waltham I have in my collection.The spacing of the feet would be 1, 21, 37 in minutes around the dial. Does anyone recognize this

Who services inexpensive automatics these days?
I was wondering who exactly services automatic watches these daysthe ones most of us can afford (say in the $500-$750 range). Rolex and the other "big boys" I know of and have heard of their costs. Are these "servicemen" who service average priced watches few and far between or can they be found in most large cities? What would be a good and fair amount a serviceman would charge for a routine cleaning (the 5 year check up so to speak). It seems the only watch servicemen out there just replace your battery and try to sell you a new watch or some other item in their story. How does one know the guy behind the counter actually knows what he is doing with an automatic?Thanks.

Hi,i recently bought a Baume and Mercier Capeland 10067. The movement inside is a La Joux-Perret caliber 8120. I was wondering if this movement has some sort of links with an ETA movement or if some information about La Joux-Perret?with kind regards,bolietz

What about Perrelet?
As is my custom when looking at a watch brand with which I'm not familiar, I go to the bay and see how much and what's for sale. I did a search on the Swiss forum without much success and now I'm here. Any one have one of these of recent manufacture? I must admit I'm quite taken by a tank style Perrelet A1021 Power Reserve Automatic men's watch, Day & Date.
