Omega Omega 9187 wrist watches news:
My new watch came yesterday: the beautiful Orange Monster...I won't go into technical details because I think most of you already know the specs and movement of this watch. You better take a look at the whole process of unpacking the watch, sizing the bracelet and some other fancy pics as well:The box was sent by the seller from Caracas.Let's begin...This box seems a little old, and it's bigger than the one that came with my Black Monster.Indeed, the box IS old, even the Seiko logo seems out-dated.I don't care about the box anymore once I opened it and saw this beauty... The watch is completely new, by the way.The box has a hidden compartment on the bottom, which serves to keep the manual and certificate in place. That's a nice detail, IMO.Here's the whole package: watch, box, manual, warranty and certificate. Here's the famous blue sticker. It was removed after taking that pic.Ok. Now it's time to resize the hefty bracelet, even though some people say it's a tricky task to do, I don't
My new Christopher Ward C5 has arrived in this mornings mail! I'll try to post some pictures tonight after work. If it runs as good as it looks, it represents a fantastic value!
I have heard anecdotally from friends - 2 of them say they never have to manually wind their daily-wear automatic, unless of course they take it off for a couple of days. Just the occasional time reset which they are OK with. One standout is a guy who for a very short time had a used Rolex automatic of unknown history, many years ago, who claimed it would "die on the wrist" if not wound every so often, had to set the time "all the time" - and being in his 20's at the time opted for a nice quartz Omega without bothering to even try to get the Rolex fixed. What is your experience? Should an Rolex-level-quality automatic "never" require winding if worn daily, assuming it's well-maintained and not many decades old?
Right guys please bear with this newbie and all my upcoming Q's How do you guys prefer the tang buckle to sit?Mines currently more towards the 6 o'clock side, opposed to how I like my Rolex clasps to be central on the underside I'm unsure with the AP strap.Visually central would look better but then think I would push the excess strap further round and stick out a little on the 12 o'clock side, I'm also thinking due to the slight bulge of the strap it protects the buckle from desk marks! For reference strap is the standard length version and I had one slot tighter left spare.
I have a friend who just purchased a PAM90 Power Reserve (no box or papers). I opened the case back for him to find that it had the 7750-p3 OP III Movement. I am not familiar with Panerai, he said it was a pam90. I thought the PAM90 had the Caliber IX but this has the Panerai OPIII w. power reserve. It's a F series. Is this possible? I have attached the picture of the movement from the watch he purchased. Here is a picture of the dial.
