I say yes! I mean all in all seriousness, I find great value in the great value watches, and therefore, they are my low cost grails. Vintage Omega Seamaster options and values
I am looking for a beater or daily wear Seamaster, probably mid 60's vintage. Prefer the automatic movements, but not completely opposed to a manual wind.Can be date model or not.Smaller case (as seems the norm) 34mm +/-Black/White or silver dial.Stainless case.Original patina/wear and such is fine and actually preferred, I want this as a working daily wear watch. Even mild dial/hand degradation is fine and very light scratching of crystal.Fleabay has a ton of them in all conditions and prices, is there a GOOD guide to them and a rough idea on values. They seem to vary all over.What models/movements do you recommend and examples The Deville is a fine looking model, are there others in the same style vein?I am more familiar with vintage Rolex, all my current Omegas are of new purchase (Seamaster AT 2500. Size comparison of Aqua Terra models vs Rolex EXP II 42mm
Hi AllThanks for taking the time to read. My one current high end watch is a Rolex EXP II 42mm which I love. I am really taken with the Aqua Terra models and want one of these to be my next hard earned purchase. Unfortunately due to my location and work shift pattern I won't be able to travel to an AD for almost a month, so I wondered if anyone had any comparison shots of these watches (both 41.5mm and 43mm models) and how they compare size-wise to a 42mm explorer. Any feedback from owners would be very much appreciated.Tho model that sings to me most from pictures is the day-date with blue face which is a 41.5mm. But they all look nice really CheersSte

Is the Sky Dweller¡¯s movement really the most complex Rolex makes?
Let me start this thread by saying that I rally, really like the SS Sky D. Would be white for me. Or maybe black. Who cares. I love them both And I also appreciate that the combination of an annual calander and second time zone are very clever and represent great value in SS for what you get. But all this talk of the Sky D movement being the most complicated that Rolex makes? That being the case, why is the SS Sky D significantly cheaper than the SS YM2? I¡¯ve just read a thread about a supposed price increase for the SS Sky D and much talk about it being too cheap. But I don¡¯t agree. The Saros system whilst extremely clever is actually quite simple in operation. And the 24 hour wheel is fundamentally a function of simple engineering. So I¡¯d put it the forum that Rolex¡¯s most complicated movement is actually that in the YM2 and that the Sky D is actually quite fairly priced for what you get and not the bargain that some would suggest?Thoughts?
