Omega 123.10.38.21.51.001 wrist watches news:
For Baseworld, Rolex has released a new caliber, the 3255. New Rolex Calibre 3255 watches: Baselworld 2015Among the highlights, is that it has a 3 day power reserve, 14 patents, and the movement is calibrated to be twice as exacting as the COSC standard. Still, as I was reading the press release, many of the features reminded me of ETA's Powermatic 80, such as the new barrel, 3 days of power reserve, new, low friction materials, and COSC version.I realize that Rolex's new movement is produced to a much higher standard, and uses better materials, but shouldn't they have aimed a bit higher on the power reserve? It just seems to me, that at the prices Rolex commands, a seven day reserve should have been the minimum.I'm curious as to what you think and any insights you have on this new movement.
Was at the AD today. . .price increase starting May 1. 8-10% across the board, not a light increase given the starting price point. Part of the increase may be currency related as the Canadian dollar has weakened against the Franc. Luckily I picked up my latest in January!
Hello everyone,New member from Michigan. I have always been very interested in watches. I finally got my first Rolex a few months ago. I got a Rolex datejust 41 rhodium diamond dial with jubilee bracelet (I will post a review with pictures at some point). Over the last couple of weeks I¡¯ve had the urge to add another to my collection. I really like the ceramic Daytona, but don¡¯t feel like waiting 5 years. I¡¯m very interested in a sea dweller 50th anniversary. Given it¡¯s an anniversary piece, I¡¯m assuming the demand is pretty high. Have any of you had trouble obtaining one? If so how long has the wait typically been?Like I said earlier I¡¯d love to have the Daytona ceramic with the white dial, I also considered a blue deep sea but I feel like it¡¯s too thick. I¡¯ve worn one in the past, and liked it I just thought it¡¯s a bit too thick. With that being said I think the 50th anniversary would be a great medium.
Pulled the trigger on a 116520 yesterday. Went back/forth between the 116520 or the DaytonaC and finally settled on this one. Both great watches but I fell in love with this watch several years ago and told myself I'd buy it if my financial situation allowed it. That day finally came and am thrilled to own this piece. This Daytona now joins my collection of 14060, 16710, and 1016.
I picked up a new to me GMT Master II 116713 today and I'm so very pleased. I stopped in at the local dealer because I heard he had taken in a blue sub on trade and I was thinking that just might be my next watch.... Until I saw this one. I'm very pleased with how different and more substantial it feels from my sub (2001 serial range). Now to figure out how to set the darn thing!
