Finally got my buddies’ 14k Gruen running right. This thing is so pretty it hurts. It has all the bells, black textured dial, knotted lugs.Too bad it isn’t an American made movement. Nice 420 though. Same movement as the Pan Americans without the center seconds.I still have to adjust the second hand a little as it hits the hour hand at about 5 til 6 and stops the movement. The 420 joins my top ten list of unforgiving hairsprings. Made of putty, $45 new and 8-10 parts movements are bad.Joel

Here's a listing for a very nice vintage Longines that's the first of it's kind I've seen:1951 VINTAGE LONGINES Mens Watch - SOLID 14K GOLD - eBay (item 280638109923 end time Mar-09-11 16:45:36 PST)No, not the case - they're as common as squirrels in the park and was used by dozens of brands. The movement and dial are typical of late 40's and early 50's styling too. I mean the listing: the seller didn't use the word "RARE" once!!!

Its time to start thinking about the next purchase for the Missus (probably need to even up the watch count for the year before I float the next acquisition target).I'm thinking pink gold is the way to go and looking for something that is more sporty than her Twenty-4. The short-list is currently the 7011 women's Nautilus and the AP Royal Oak ladies, both bracelet versions.Which of these two would you pick? Are there any other models I should consider?
