The Watch Gods helped me fill another Longines vacancy - this time for the caliber 285 slot.I guess I'm forced to admit that I'm running on all 8 cylinders again. The bevelled edge of the bezel is so sharp you might be able to slice tomatoes on it.

i just bought a folio automatic today . i got a good deal cuz it was on clearance for $60! but i have never seen this movement before, its a very small 23 jewel Chinese auto with a big date and an open heart dial. the markings say F0101/250807 and ilike i said its TINY!!!ill try and get a pic later. does anyone know what kind of movement is in it?

Hello everyone. I've been lurking on here for a while and decided to dive in. As the title says, I quit smoking a week ago and am putting that 50$ per week I used to spend on smokes into my new watch obsession.I've alsways loved watches (for the style more than the intricacies), and now am having fun learning about the technical side. I have yet to make my first purchase, but I am getting a lot of helpful info just from browsing thus forum.I do have one watch that is in my collection. A 1985 Rolex datejust 16030 that my dad left me when he died 15 years ago. I have to say it will be the only Rolex I will ever own, they are definately not in my budget! I do love it, stainless with blue face.Looking forward to getting started!George

I picked this watch up over the weekend from a local seller and I can't be more pleased with it! I was unlucky and missed the boat earlier this year when these originally went on sale and I've been hunting for one ever since.This is a special edition (1 of 70 produced) from Stowa with "Made in Germany" printed on the dial, the ETA 2801 movement, and black-framed hands. What really attracted me to this particular Stowa flieger was the manual wind movement, something not normally offered in regular production Stowa fliegers. I was slightly hesitant about the black-framed hands when this series was first announced because I was afraid they would appear too monochromatic against the black dial. This watch hasn't left my wrist since I picked it up on Sunday and I'm happy to say the black-on-black hands and dial have not been an issue at all!I already have a couple other watches slated for purchase when they're released 2012, but if Stowa were to begin offering a Baumuster B-dial flieger wit
