Watch photos No. 3 - Watches and Water
Watches and Water mix well. That is why watch and water gives some great photos. These kind of photos can ad some action to a otherwise less interesting photo.Water can give some extra action and movement into a otherwise static watch photo.I really like if the photo is "wet and wild" - put the watch into the sea and let the waves make the your watch wet.These kind of photos are showing the watches in the some "natural" surroundings, and not the normal photos of watches on the kitchen table.My third entry is "watches and water" photos.Best RegardsJan Jps.I also put some in the Panerai forum ;-)

Baume & Mercier
I have been doing some extensive research on Swiss watches and was pretty much set on an IWC (Pilot) until I stumbled upon a Baume & Merciers Executive series (Model # 8688 and 8689). The watch has a small display window and a semi clear display back which you have to see to appreciate its beauty. Since there aren't many forums dedicated to Baume/Mercier it is a bit more difficult for me to do research on the watch. My questions are:1. I know Baume is not in the same league as IWC. But in terms of prestige how does it compare to Omega?2. I also know Baume does not have its own inhouse movements. But are the ETA movements heavily modified like some of IWC's? 3. Specifically, which ETA movement does this Baume use? 4. ANy other comments (persuasion or disuasion) would be greatly appreciated. The list price is around 3K compared to an IWC Pilot which is closer to 5K for an entry level. The Baume is also a little dressier and extremely elegant. Thanks in advance for your help and sugge

Watch information
Can anyone provide any information about this watch company or maker? It seems almost impossible to find any information. The inside reads 'Dwelsa Watch Swiss' and marked by hand is written 'Wakmann watch co'. There are no series numbers or dates. It is stamped as 15 jewels and unadjusted.It belonged to my great, great grandfather and I just wanted as much information as possible about it.

Sword Hands, Bond Hands, Straight Hands ??
I'm really having trouble liking the latest crop of Omegas.....They are using too much of the skeleton hand that I don't like at all, and the Aqua Terra hands, which I like, are creeping upward in cost..It seems they're stretching their specialty line, Olympics, 007, and LE multicolored everythings, all over the map at the expense of their traditional fare..I don't know....I was looking at the offerings to fill an empty spot in the Omega box, and with no good Great White offering or replacement, I'm just not sure which one I might want to get...Usually something just strikes me, and I can see some future merit that justifies purchase.... not right now !!What about you.. ?
