Mad Men and Watches
1. Apparently the official watch of Mad Men is JLC.2. Wouldn't Omega and/or Longines have been a more historically accurate choice for the watches worn by upper middle class Americans in the '60s?3. Throughout the 60s, my father- an NYC municipal bond lawyer, and his brother- an NYC surgeon, who the same approximate age as Draper (late 30s and early 40s) both wore Omegas, as did many of their friends.4. Advice on new purchase
Really like the Avenger II GMT, close to purchase new from AD. Blue dial, blue rubber strap, competitive price. Would like input from members here on the watch and Breitling in general, as this will be my first of the brand. Reliability is the main quality in a watch for me, followed by accuracy and durability. The B32 movement is a modified ETA movement used in several other GMT models, any comments on that? My Rolex's have spoiled me. Thanks for your comments.

I purchased the strap from the rose gold version, I like the way it looks, goes great with the dial. Stopped by the Service center in Rockefeller Plaza, great place and at $250 it is very reasonable a things considered.
