3 New Jaquet Droz Watches for China’s Year of the Horse
As Americans mark the start of 2014, China celebrates the Year of the Horse, the seventh sign in the Chinese Zodiac. To commemorate it, Jaquet Droz, a watch brand long associated with China, is releasing a series of Ateliers d’Art timepieces with artistic dials.Each of the three new Jaquet Droz watches features at least one of three highly complex artistic decorative technique on its dial: engraving, painting and grand feu enamel. He bought it new in the day for $300. Looked fantastic and had only been serviced once when he broke the crystal. Amazing.

Stolen White Gold Ventura
A few days ago a colleague in the UK was mugged at knifepoint and his wife's white gold Ventura was stolen. Given the rarity of this piece I suspect there is a very good chance it will surface in the collector market sooner rather than later.I would ask for everyone to please keep an eye out for this watch as it could easily show up anywhere in the world, on the Internet or at a show.The case has the serial number S424541; the movement is a Hamilton 505 and the dial is refinished black. I restored the watch just a few months ago and the condition is superb.If any information about this watch turns up, please email me at rene@rondeau.net so I can pass it along to the authorities.

tried on a 42mm PO, not much difference
not much difference compared to the 45.5anyone having similar experience? the 42 does seem smaller but not by much...
