Jaeger-LeCoultre will take the members of its online community on an unprecedented technological journey during the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH). I do admit to scrutinizing the way people wear their watches. I don't always understand people that wear watches too loose. My immediate thought is, "don't they know they can get it sized?" Perhaps people like the loose bracelet feel. You don't often see people who wear watches fitted with a strap wearing them loose. But they they are also those people that wear their watches upside down, and a few other positions that this readable blurb from Esquire magazine depicts.One of the best parts of the article are the drawings by illustration artist Alan Witschonke. He is a masterful artist and does justice to the watch in illustration form. I would love to see more watch drawings by him.One things lacking from the article is mention of what is means to just wear a watch normally, with a properly fitted bracelet. No anecdote about that? The Piaget rose with its hundred bright pink and softly scented "peony" petals is an endless source of inspiration for the brand. Once again, it is unfurling its fuchsia flower on the dial of an Altiplano. To create the bloom, the artist Rose Saneuil selected different materials (white mother-of-pearl, grained plane and pale pink maple, candy and scarlet sycamore), cut them up then assembled them, piece by piece, from the chapter ring to the heart of the dial. It took 25 hours and 96 wooden and mother-of-pearl pieces to make the dial. That means it took around 450 hours for this Boulle School graduate to make the 18 Altiplano Marqueterie de nacre et bois watches. Do I title it, Man, I love GMTs.Maybe, I love Blue.Or keep it simple, Incoming!!I know I have gone back and forth on this, and said I was happy with my LN, but the more and more I looked at it, I just fell in love. Appropriate for the thin blue line, and oh yeah, my kid's little league team colors I know I talked negatively about it in the past, but the little time i spent with it in an AD years ago did it no justice. I'm really glad I gave this one a second chance. Thanks DavidSW for another easy and pleasant transaction.
