Panerai PAM wrist watches news:
I am fairly new to this site, it is great! I just purchased my first Longines, a 1952 Barlow. See my post from 9-10-2011 for pics. I am really leaning toward having the dial cleaned/restored. I have read many comments both for and against restoring an original dial. If you look at the pics, I think a cleaned/restored dial would really make the watch look fabulous especially with the gold nuggets on the case. (The gold nuggets are an Alaska thing. If you goolge about them you will find that gold nuggets are very rare these days). Any thoughts or comments to help with my decision would be greatly appreciated. Lastly recommendations on who could accomplish this feat, should I decide to have it done. I am nervous to send it off. Thank you in advance for any and all replies.v/rRon
What do you guys think of this watch? The specs are:40mm 316L stainless steel case9mm case thicknessGenuine leather strapSapphire crystalSwiss Ronda 6004B movementSmooth black leather3ATM water resistant$200 with a lifetime full replacement guarantee.photo.jpgcloseup_detail_layered (Large).jpgcloseup_hand (Large).jpgwhite_backdrop (Large).jpgwhole_hand (Large).jpgThose professional pics are of the original model. Here is a bad pic of a new one that was changed. As you can see, the dial, crown, and logo are different.I've reached the maximum number of attachments so here's the link i.imgur/lkhuCOo.jpgSpecific criticisms would be greatly appreciated. What don't you like about it?
I know the Tag's use the Calibre movement's, and that several other watches use the ETA and Valjoux movements. I have read that the 7750 movement is the same basically as the Calibre 16? I am VERY confused wrt the movements, and could use a crash course. That may be impossible, but would like to learn about them.Is the Calibre 16 just the name Tag uses for the same Valjoux 7750 movement? Is one better than the other?
Get a look at what I found at my local AD! This was massive in person and I was sorely tempted to try it on but we were in a hurry... so maybe next time I can strap this pie pan to my wrist and take a couple shots! The sales lady said I can get a VERY good price for it too Here is all the info I could find on this giant:Omega Seamaster Railmaster XXL Chronometer Watch, limited edition of 157pcs, 18kt rose gold case (49.2mm diameter), polished 18kt rose gold bezel, leather strap with 18kt rose gold clasp, black dial with luminescent index and Arabic numeral hour markers, small seconds hand at 6 o'clock, Omega #2201 manual-wind mechanical movement, scratch-resistant sapphire crystal, water resistant to 150 meters.Anyone out there actually own one of the 157 that were made?
I'm looking for a Panerai that I can wear everyday and not worry about scratching it. So I was looking at the pam 00250 because from the photos it appears to have a brushed finish instead of a high gloss finishis this accurate? have not had a chance to see one in person. I really like the bezel and hope the finish is brushedanyone have this model and how does it hold up when doing physical activities? thank you
