Trouble with stem!
About two years ago I decided to take my love of watches to the next level and try watchmaking. However, I'm prone to tremors when using my fine motors (it runs in the family), and I gave up out of frustration. But, watches are far less interesting when you're just a spectator so I've started it up again. Though I'm 3x slower because of the tremors it's still a fun hobby. Which brings me to my question: I've got a lovely Swiss 6497-1 that I want to install in a case, but before I do so I'm practicing with a cheap Chinese 6497-1 clone. Following some online instruction (there's far less than I thought there would be) I removed the stem, however I could not put it back in. One of the little bars had been slightly bent out of shape, so I took the stem-related parts out, bent the bar back, and put it all back together. However, the stem still won't go in very far, and I noticed that the little bar that is pushed forward when the stem is pulled out (to set the watch) is moving freely (sorry

With so many posts about Rolex as investments I wanted to share a good rule of thumb that I use myself. I feel this applies to 99% of situationsIt¡¯s a mass produced watch. It will go down in value as soon as you buy it. Give or take a little, estimate 25%-30% drop in value from msrp depending on the watch. The great part about a Rolex is that you can cash out of your ¡°investment¡± easier than with other watch brands. However, YOU still need to sell it. Remember, on the forums you¡¯re competing with trusted sellers, etc so you¡¯ll have to price below them to compete and you¡¯ll likely have a bit more wear on your piece then they normally do on theirs. Over the long-term, used watch prices will follow the current msrp trends so maybe in about 10 years your watch may actually be selling in the used market for around your original purchase price (msrp). Explorer 1 39mm wearable for a small wrist?
Hello, I will be heading into an AD on Friday for my next potential purchase (2017 EXP1) however I wanted to get some opinons before handI have a 6 inch flat wrist (small I know - really limits what watches I can wear), are there any other members that have the 39mm EXP1 with similar wrist size?Even if people who do not have the EXP1 but an experience that will help shed some light, would be greatly appreciated.Note: I am aware that the 36mm option is available, however I much prefer the new bracelets.Kind regards, Steve.
