My GMT2 is damaged, and
My GMT2 (mine since new) is circa 1984 or so. I would like to learn more about my Rolex.It was Rolex Canada serviced 5 years ago. I recently noticed that through some unusual event, the large minute hand appears to have some damage on it's trailing edge which could have happened during a shock episode causing a collision between hands. This watch recently retired with me, but did work hard sometimes during the past 15 years.I am about to have it serviced again, and wonder whether it is possible, or practical, or advisable to update the face and hands to current model specs.The model number as reported by Rolex Canada on the Service guarantee document states 16713. Would the serial number be of assistance in learning more about this watch?Referrals to threads, posts or websites with useful information about the GMT 2 would be welcomed.Your comments and/or advice will be valued.Regards..

Well not exactly. Late last year I happened to be in a mall looking for a coat. I stopped at a coffee bar to get a cuppa and noticed that the Bailey, Banks & Biddle store had a going-out-of-business sale. I had no idea. I walked in to see if they had any really good deals on watches. They didn't have any remaining stock I cared about and, as I was on my way out of the store, my eye caught this Raymond Weil in a case by the entrance.I recognized the N immediately and inquired about it. I am a native Nebraskan and a lifelong Nebraska football fan. My only concessions to Big Red logo memorabilia have been coffee mugs, shirts, and jackets. This watch intrigued me and here's the story I got from the salesman. Warren Buffett asked Raymond Weil to produce an edition of 500 Nebraska Cornhusker logo watches for his company, Berkshire Hathaway, which includes a large jewelry store in Omaha. I have a newer Rolex Airking 34MM and while it is a great watch so far I m thinking of having an alternate watch (maybe a mide size AT)..6 1/2 wrists, not tall so I am still unable to adjust to these hugh watches, LOL.any advise to an Omega looker?

Don't need a Patek but I want one ... Which one to get
So I'm 30 years old and I own a speedy pro that I wear on weekends and some evenings. I have a Non date sub that I wear to work ( as a doctor) and to meetings and things. I have a Reverso 976 with a white dial and leather strap as a dress watch. I thought I didn't need another watch but the Patek brand calls to me. I guess I have it engraved in my mind that I must own a patek someday. Its probably due to marketing ( and I'm a sucker for marketing)My query is - if I was to get a patek which one should I get and should I get is sooner or later? I want to have a iconic model. It was easy with the other brands as they all have one iconic piece that they are known for. It's not that easy with Patek. The Calatrava is obviously the easy choice and I love the 5227. I tried one on and it suited me well, but I couldn't think of when I would wear it. The nautilus has been in my mind since I was about 16. I iconic design but I think I have two good sports watches and I guess I don't need another.
