Concord Launches C1 Seafarer and C1 Zest
Concord has announced two new versions of its C1 chronograph. The Seafarer features a “blue waters” rubber-coated alligator strap with contrasting white stitching complimenting white chronograph subdials. The dial finish is described as having a “structured fiberglass look.” The C1 Zest sports a white strap with orange stitching and an orange honeycomb dial with black subdials. Both models have stainless steel 53-piece cases measuring 44mm x 16.7mm. Below Zero Update
I see the Hamilton website is now featuring the Below Zero series.I have been tracking a Below Zero on a well known auction site. . . new and currently at $137. Several others are also listed at set prices of $1400 and up.Based on the very mixed reviews of this watch when we first saw it in March/April, I wonder how much the $137 dollar model will go for especially in light of the fixed prices on the others.

Perpetual calender
I have decide on purchasing a perpetual CALENDER (preowned or grey market) and I am deciding between 3940/5140 or 5059/5159 in either rose gold or platinum. I simply can't justify spending far greater amount on a brand new piece. I would like input from those experienced in purchasing a used watch from Ebay, or one of dealers that appear on the Chrono24 site. What are the pitfalls and how may one best mitigate risks in purchasing from such sources?

Just back from the watchmaker: my grandfather's Longines 5 Star Admiral
I finally had my grandfather¡¯s Longines Admiral service. I remember as a child seeing him wear the watch all the time. Working, golfing, lounging¡­.When I found it in a forgotten box of his possessions (he passed away in 1989 at the age of 89), it definitely had the look of a watch worn all the time.It was very dirty and the grit that built up between the Speidel band and the case actually pitted and rusted it a bit. Plus, the crystal had been cracked. Fortunately, the dial was pristine.Back from the watchmaker, the case is pretty well buffed out and a new crystal was fitted. The only lasting damage seems to be inside the case where the back screws in.The movement is the 17 jewel 507 (Record 1958-2) caliber. It sports 19,800 bph and has a power reserve of 44 hours according tor Ranfft. The only difference I can see in this model is that it lacks the quick date set feature.Interestingly, I noticed a small etching on the inside of one of the lugs which reads 7-13-66. So, the watch d
