Raymond Weil RW-5488-ST-20001 wrist watches news:
I was out hiking with my girlfriend yesterday when I spotted something shiny sticking out of the mud. I picked it up to discover it was a watch without a strap. It looked fairly old but I couldn't make out what brand of watch it was as it was full of condensation and water. I wound it slightly only to hear it start ticking to my amazement. With nobody around for miles I put it in my pocket and we continued on our hike. When I got home that evening I opened it to allow it to dry out and discovered it was a Patek Philippe & Co watch. There was a good bit of rust in it. The glass is fairly scratched and the face has what look to be mold or mildew marks on it. I've tried to identify the watch online but haven't seen anything that is identical although some very similar looking movements. Can anyone identify this watch? How old it is?Would it be worth getting this watch repaired/restored by Patek? I imagine that would cost a significant amount given its condition and has now lost a lot o
I've noticed over the past year or so that many retailers are dropping Seiko from their inventory. Findlay(who used to run Macy's and Dillards fine jewelery),Leroys,Helsbergs,Zales, and finally Kay jewelers just reduced their Seiko to 50% closeout recently. Sears and Penneys still have a small selection of lower end Seikos, but for how long? Let me qualify this; I can only speak about malls and stores in and near Lexington and Louisville Ky. Does anyone know whats going on with Seiko and retailers?
I found it pretty cheap, but was afraid I misidentified it.Thanks,Bob
My AD passed on this link to take part in a survey on watch collectors. I thought it might interest you guys, here is the message from him:The industry¡¯s leading research company, LGI Network, is launching the first in-depth survey of luxury timepiece collectors. I was hoping you could participate in the survey and mention it to others so that they can participate as well. This is an industry-wide initiative that will provide important feedback to brands and the broader collector community. CEO¡¯s of most leading brands rely on LGI¡¯s information to make critical product and business decisions. In addition to being able to voice your opinions, as a respondent, you will receive a confidential copy of the survey results. The results will include unfiltered feedback on brand reputations, purchasing and trade-in practices, pricing, and much more. The survey is being administered by LGI Network and will be conducted via the web. Feedback from respondents will be kept confidential, and pr
Just been admiring the White Gold Pepsi with a Blue dial and saw that it still had the 3186 movements fitted. Are we to take from that that they have used existing cases and supplemented them with the addition of a blue dial and are using up the older movement as this will fit with no messing around with the case?Obviously, the 116710LN, 116710BLNR and the 116713 and 116718 are all remaining with the 3186 movements too......... but for how long?
