I am now the very proud owner of a quite rare Tianjin Sea-Gull 28 jewel day/date auto ST7 from roughly 1975 or so. I've now worn it over 70 hoursit's keeping time within 3 seconds per day, and since the thing started ticking as soon as I picked out of the box, I haven't had to wind it. The Sea-Gull ST7 (very easy-to-adjust) quick-set day-date automatic movement was a largely unrecognized high point in 1970s PRC watch engineering, a first class automatic movement with micrometer regulation...that could not find a market: At the time this watch was produced, the Chinese either couldn't afford it or, if they could, were more interested in the growing influx of cheaper or flashier, and often quartz, watches from outside Chinaand (since PRC China had been essentially closed to westerners) export market customers were not aware of the high capacity for quality PRC manufacturers offered and so would not venture the higher price required to make large-scale production of the ST7 possible. Seiko Men's Kinetic Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch Street Price: Around $400Choices: White or charcoalFluid movement begins with your choice of the charcoal or white style. Stainless steel forms each case in respectively silver-tone or gold-tone, and is topped with a decagon shaped bezel with accent screws. Flip this beauty over and view the impressive Japanese Seiko Kinetic chronograph movement through the exhibition back. Highly scratch resistant sapphire crystal shields the movement and dial finished in charcoal or white. Displayed around the outer dial is a tachymeter with a 45-minute stopwatch timer sub dial near 2:00, a hour / minute sub dial near 6:00, a date window at 4:00 and a 60 second sub dial near 10:00. Gold-tone Arabic numerals are scripted in the hour / minute sub dial at 6:00 and 12:00 with gold-tone index markers at all remaining positions. Gold-tone LumiBrite finishes the hour and minute hands paired with gold-tone chronograph and sub dial hands. Embracing your wr
Hi, just started with the group and I'm having a great time reading the posts. I do need some help identifying this watch, though. It's currently being rebuilt, but i can't find any information on it other than is an AS 1882/83 1986 movement marked as Elgin 352 with case number 1501. It has a crown at 2:00 position to rotate internal bezel and one at 4:00 for winding and time set. Date is quick set on lower crown by pushing in. Can anyone help?
Looking for a new strap for my 512, but the options from Panerai are limited for the 42mm size. Any suggestions for non Panerai brands?
