08 TT Sub with broken date question
So i'm on my 2nd Rolex. My first was an 06 SS/Black Sub that I had no problems with. Recently I sold it back and upgraded to an 08 Two Tone/Black Sub. The first day I wore it, I noticed that the date would not change correctly. The date would only go half way at midnight and not complete its transition until 3 AM. I took the watch back to the store and they replaced it with another one. We checked it before I left the store and the date would switch over correctly at midnight.I wore the watch for 2 weeks straight before I locked it up in my safe and switched back to my Breitling Navitimer. I wore the Breitling for a week and decided switch back to the Sub. When I took the Sub out of the safe and set the time and date, the DATE DID THE SAME THING AS THE PREVIOUS ONE! It would only click half way at midnight and then complete the date transition around 3 AM.Has this happened to anyone else?!?!? My original 06 Sub NEVER had this issue. Yacht Master endlink question
Why does the Yacht Master have endlinks that protrude out of the case lugs unlike the other Rolex watches that have the endlinks flush?Can't think of a proper reason and I'm not sure I like the way it looks too. Interesting trip to my watchmaker's today....
I dropped in to say hi and to leave a watch with him for a clean up.He knows I'm 'into' watches and grabbed a bag for me to look at - within was what I think was a PAM 250 (Daylight) but I'm not 100% sure because I'm positive the engraving on the caseback had a fish, but the Panerai website picture does not show one. It was on a Panerai stamped rubber strap with a Panerai engraved deployant. It felt solid and looked exceptionally well made (as I would expect from a Panerai). Unfortunately the watchmaker had not yet opened it up and so was unable to confirm I was looking at the real deal.I think I will have to go back with my camera and put some pics up here, because I would hate to be getting excited over something that says it is what it isn't (you know the word...).Unless anyone knows about the engraved fish on the caseback, I'll update this with some pics when I can.On a side-note, he showed me a Raymond Weil 'tank' style watch in solid 18K gold, with a smashed crystal.
