trying to identify Grandfather's Watch

i just purchased a hamilton from a reputable online auctioneer who confirmed for me that the piece i was buying is 100% authentic. however, since it wasnt an AD there is some concern it could be a replica and i was hoping someone in the area with knowledge on hamilton's could possibly meet up to get an outside opinion. some of the listings on hamiltons website for AD's arent accurate and the one that is says their watchmaker is out until next week. id like to get another opinion as soon as possible as the auctioneer said if its not authentic they will refund. side note: looking at the paperwork the watch was purcahse at king wah watch & pen in singapore. thanks

AD's in New York/New Jersey & ROO Diver
I have been a collector of Rolex watches for the last few years and have just begun looking at APs to add to my collection. I live in New York City and would like to find someone local if I could. I know AP has the boutique on 57th street but in my experience the boutique prices are not competitive at all (please correct me if I'm wrong). I also know of Tourneau but their prices are also not as competitive in my experience. I have a great AD for Rolex's out in NJ who gets me competitive prices and keeps me updated on new models coming in. I am looking for the same type of person for my AP purchase. If anyone has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. The first watch I am looking to get is the ROO diver. I have been quietly scanning the pages of this forum and this watch really sticks out as my next purchase. If anyone can also provide some insight as to what a fair discount % that I can expect off MSRP that would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Decided to comply with the 5 yr + 2 yr Navitimer 01 warranty requirement of sending my watch in for its 2 year service.I was expecting to pay $220 as per their website. Turns out it's free.They found my watch to have low amplitude.Moral:That if it's OK don't service it mindset may not always be prudent. I may have diverted near future movement major issues by accepting a possible $220 tab. As it turns out, only incurred the $37 cost of shipping via registered mail.Projected turnaround delivery is under 4 four weeks from when I sent it in.

Went to buy a Milgauss GV, came home with this instead...
Last friday I decided to do some watch shopping. In the crosshairs was the Milgauss GV, Daytona or a Datejust II. At the rolex AD the GV and Daytona fell flat for me, they just didn't get my pulse racing like they should at that price. The DJII was surprisingly amazing, with black stick dial and fluted WG bezel it was a vision of classic beauty with a modern twist. I left the AD thinking I would just grab some lunch, hit the other Omega AD, and go back for the DJII. Well I made the mistake of asking the Omega AD if he had a Ploprof, and you bet they did, with extra orange strap. It was love at first sight and there was no question that I had to have this watch. It was a feast for the eyes, and a pleasure to handle and wear. Truly a superb piece, that holds its own against the Deepsea. I wouldn't say it is equal to the Deepsea, but its very close in quality and refinement, with a rich history to back it up. Enjoy the pics, I'm loving this piece.
