I have been toying with the idea of getting a winder, but one of the problems I have is that a winder won't really fit in my safe. Well, not if I want anything else in there too, such as the other watches that don't fit on it, let along anything else. So, if it won't fit then it needs to be left out. But the problem with that is that it is likely to be the more expensive watches that get on the winder, and then they will be the ones just sitting out all the time.I don't live in a bad part of town, and we have never been broken into, although our neighbours have. But why push your luck and have many thousands of $$ of watches just sitting out. What are your thoughts about winders vs. security?
from businessman's etiquette manual:Don¡¯t check your watchThis is my worst habit, one I¡¯m trying to break. You should avoid checking your watch or the wall clock, as it creates an impression that you¡¯d rather not be there (whether it¡¯s true or not). If you do it, you¡¯re giving a clear cue that you are not enjoying present company and it reduces the impression others have of you.
Hi GuysJust joined up and have done quite a bit of reading over the last day or so. So i bought my first seamaster just over a year ago when i was on holiday in my home country and the shop where i bought it from had this old omega watch which caught my eye... a 90's dynamic chrono with a metal strap. I have done some research on it since then and have found a few bits and pieces on the watch itself but not much is out there. I was wondering if any of you guys currently or have previously owned one and what your thoughts on it are. I just found out the watch is still for sale and the shop owner has offered me a pretty good deal on it... Ive seen a few for sale and the price is hard to beat from what other shops are selling them at.heres a pic of the actual watch
my ad wants to charge me a 3% surcharge if I pay with a cc?is this the norm?
