TAG Heuer WAH1011.BT0717 wrist watches news:
Well I am shopping around, I REALLY REALLY want the White Face Hamilton Jazzmaster Square, and cannot seem to find a place that has it with a white face and stainless steel band. I could really use some serious help here guys! I really dont want to pay more than 550 bucks for the watch, it is nice, but that is probably my limit. I am working on a College Budget, so it is hard. I went to Tourneau, and Fortunoffs, will they discount these watches? I really want a swiss automatic and the jazzmaster square is right my ally. Thanks for any help/connections/local AD search!!
Well, unfortunately this watch I picked up awhile back, which was in excellent external and internal condition, loses time....a lot. I had a local watchmaker (who is Omega trained I believe) check it out and I was told that one thing affects another, and that it would be cost prohibitive to fix. He's a great guy who's done me favors in the past. So..I'm left wondering what to do with this watch. The movement, a '70 marked 11anacd, looks pristine but if I recall he mentioned there was a problem with the cannon pinion and a related part that was causing it to lose time. I'm wondering if I should search out another similar movement, or perhaps another Bulova movement with the same dimensions; and from the same time period, that'll fit the case. Perhaps a mechanical instead of an automatic? Would that be heresy to change type of movements? Opinions, options, let's here it please. I'm at a loss of what to do with this nice looking watch.I'll update later with a pic or two, but I be
I know there are some intrinsic and subjective differences between more expensive and prestigious watches and watches such as the Alpha line. What I am wondering now is if there is much of a practical difference. How will the accuracy and longevity of a typical example of an Alpha compare to a similarly featured watch that will cost 10, sometimes 100 times as much?I'm seriously interested in an Alpha dual time jump minute automatic that I mentioned in a different post.Another thought is that for the price of well under $100.00, how much can you get hurt if it doesn't last as long? It seems like it would be cheaper to replace a $100 or less watch every few years than to get a more expensive watch serviced.I guess the real question in my ramblings is whether there is really any OBJECTIVE benefit to buying a nice hand finished watch and having it serviced every howevermany years versus buying a less than $100 watch and replacing it every howevermany years.Don't get me wrong - if I could
i'm thinking about one of these for my SM300. any recommendations?
Hi all I am looking to purchase a 15400 silver dial. I will be buying a pre owned version. I have come across a 2013 model that is an H series. I recall reading on this forum (and I apologize I haven't been able to find it) the an earlier model (perhaps H.) had trouble with the clasp screws coming loose. I believe AP fixes/replaces the clasp at service but not sure?So is the H series the model with the troubled clasp. Should I wait until a new I or J series becomes available. I am not in a huge rush. Really appreciate your thoughts. Thanks all.
