Full disclosure: I am a vintage Seiko fanatic. My watch-collecting journey really started with a fascination for Seiko¡¯s iconic automatic models of ¡®60s, ¡®70s, and (early) ¡®80s. Calling all UK People; TAG Heuer Boutique Westfield?
As some of you may know, I am on the hunt for a TAG Heuer CARRERA Calibre S Laptimer; problem is, its ONLY sold in the UK and oveseas. I am located in the US.CV7A10.FT6012I have had some email correspondances with the Westfield Tag store in London, who have been VERY responsive to me. I am doing my background check on them to make sure they are reputable. Has anyone purchased anything from this store before?Also, to my surprise, they are able to ship to me. Other stores in the UK has emailed me back and said they cannot ship to the US. Any thought as to how they are able to do this? They said free shipping, but will I get hit with a customs charge? How much? What about them charging my CC in US dollars to avoid the extra charge from my credit card company?Lastly, (I don't want to get into AD specifics), but ROUGHLY, what % off the asking price in Europe do you think I can get off my Tag? NEW Diver landed this weekend
First I want to take the time to thank everyone here for the warm wishes and all the pics they posted of their Divers. Everyone has been great in answering questions and welcoming me to the AP section of the forum. So thank you to all.I ended up purchasing my Diver from Mosco (Greg). He has been a great friend of mine over the last several years and it was nice to be able to give him some of my limited business. I dont purchase a large amount of watches so when i do if i can buy one from a buddy that makes it better for me. Obviously there are several great TRF dealers here that could have taken care of me and some even offered (Davidson for one). But I just had to get it from Greg. I hate to drive it in the ground but he was outstanding to deal with. (for those of you who have not dealt with him) If you NEED a diver, contact Mosco cause i think he has a few incoming if not just laying around. Needed a quartz watch to set my Rolex's with...
and ended up with this! Accuracy is totally nuts; it's spot on to the second after three weeks. I would love to see Rolex do a high-end quartz with some digital pilot functions and an oyster case, something like this or the Breitling Aerospace. Until then, this will have to keep time for the collection.
