Advice on servicing costs.
gentlemen, i'm posting this request on behalf a friend. He has a 1973 untra chron watch which belonged to his father. The watch is a sweeping hand and date model and looks to be either 9 or 18 carrat gold plated (not hallmarked). It has been in a box for over 20 years and the watch starts up when handled but appears to have been overwound at some point. It is need of a good clean and has a replacement strap fitted.In real terms the watch would not appear to be worth anything more than sentimental value. The question I'm asking is whether it's worth getting serviced, and if so, what would he expect to pay?Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi, I'm new here and have a question. I have a Seiko pocket watch that I pruchased in Fussa, Japan in 1972 or 3. It has a sliver case with silver written on the back. I has roman numerals. Took a trip over to the Natick Omega Boutique at lunch time and the staff revealed THEIR assertion that the Co-Ax Seamaster Aqua Terra Anti-Magnetic (code name Bumble-Bee) will be available in February 2014 at a retail price of $6,600.No reason to doubt the man who said this, just always take AD's information at arms length, since they are more interested in sales than factual accuracy. If true, this seems reasonable for such a break-through watch and the timing seems a little delayed like most U.S. allocations of new pieces. I think I read Europe may have them by the end of October? Thought some of might like to know...If true, come February, this will be mine! oh yes, it shall be mine!!! Mooo-wah-ah-ah-ah-ah!! <---said in my best sinister laugh while wringing my hands.

My research shows me that the 7011/1 ladies Nautilus was only made in either white or Rose gold.My watch looks quite yellow gold in appearance. Does any other member think that the Patek Philippe Rose gold Nautilus looks a shade of yellow?Thanks.Phil
