Tudor 79180 wrist watches news:
On Wednesday, May 30th Christie's will be holding their Important Watches auction in Hong Kong. Many rare watches will be making an appearance from the likes of Patek Philippe, Rolex and Audemars Piguet. Included among them will be Harry Winston's Opus watches, and not just one or two, but eight of them. Opus 1 thru 7, along with 9 will all hit the block that Wednesday evening, providing collectors a chance at two thirds of the entire Opus collection. The Harry Winston Opus series of watches are the brain child of Max Busser, the MB of MB&F and one time Managing Director of Harry Winston Rare Timepieces. Busser, seeing the potential of bringing the best independent watchmakers into the fold in making a special watch for Harry Winston once a year turned out to be pretty good idea. The project brings exposure to the folks doing arguably the most interesting work in the business, names like Felix Baumgatner, Vianney Halter and Greubel Forsey. We've brought you interviews an
Hi all,I have got a new OM and I found thet the serial is 001235, is this mean that my monster is 10y old? Should I do something, is it bad? I'm a bit worried....here it is with a nato:
Just noticed the venerable Bailey, Banks & Biddle recently closed. Was major Patek seller. In 1979-80 inflation period I was buying gold collectibles during an 18 month noncompete employment agreement period. That was when I became a modest and incompetent watch collector. A friend of my wife referred me to her friend who had loaned $3000. to owner of a BB&B Patek 1905 repeater pocketwatch. After 10 years owner had not redeemed it so he sold to me. I had Sotheby auction catalogs showing about $7500. for similar and showed it to him, but he insisted on only getting his loan money back not wanting to make a profit on his friend the son of the original owner. So I had a nice repeater cheap and too quickly sold for $5000. True story. I soon learned it was a split second chronograph good for $10,000 then and $30,000 now. 2 photos here scanned from my 35mm slides of it.
Wondering if any 1.4mm screwdriver will do for the bracelet screws on a RO? In other words, no need to use a cut-out type screw driver as the 1.6mm used for Panerais and Rolex? As for the case back which screw driver is suitable (width) and is an H-style screwdriver needed in addition, like those used for Hublots?Input is appreciated
