I just updated my Rolex Price Evolution (prices starting since 1957) page at minus4plus6/PriceEvolution.htm with the March 1 prices. Feel free to shoot me any additions or omissions by hitting the contact button on the page.-Sheldon
Whenever I pass a high end jewelry store that sells watches (in a mall or if I pass a Tourneau) I always want to go in and look at the awesome watches (it's a sickness, I know) and maybe even try a few on and occasionally I do but I always feel weird because I have no intention of buying anything and I make it a point to tell the salesperson right off the bat that I'm not looking to buy so there's no misunderstanding and if they're busy not to waste their time with me because I'm just passing time while the wife is shopping. Is it uncool to ask them to try on a few different watches knowing full well there's no possible chance for a sale?I just like trying on cool watches....
I picked up a 15400 about 2 weeks ago off of a member here and and it's an amazing watch but i can't find an answer to two questions i have about noises it making. 1. When moved around it sounds like it is making a noise as if it is winding, I figured that was normal as you can see inside the caseback but have never noticed it on any of my rolex watches. 2. When moved around with a little more force as if jogging or reaching fast for something it makes a different noise as if something is loose and shaking around. It also runs about +5-+6 seconds fast a day but that is not a problem for me. I'm hoping they are just normal sounds as i do not want to send it in to get warranty work already. Thanks for any advice.
This Seamaster 200m looks plain and simple. Haven't a clue if a good price or not. What do you all think?
Seriously considering a SS Nautilus, probably a 5712, and wondering if one of the things that is drawing me to add a Patek vs another Rolex, the light weight, will ultimately feel too light. The watch seems to have lots of presence, and the comfort is a plus, but will the clasp feel too small, etc. I'm probably over thinking this (as usual) but what are your thoughts? I know many of you go back and forth from PP to Rolex regularly.
