U-Boat 1890 wrist watches news:
¡°I used to drive a Bentley, but I like this Fiat more. What other car has a turning radius like this? None!¡± Daniel points this little fact out as he whisks me around Zurich in a very un-Swiss like driving manner. His finesse on the road fits the Italian lineage of the car much better than the conservative tone the bank city we are in is known for.Daniel Dreifuss, a Swiss native, has been in the watch industry for years. Like many people involved in the world of timepieces, it happened quite by accident to Daniel. His major foray in watches before starting Maurice de Mauriac was a thriving promotional watches business. This involved making special giveaways watches for companies ¡ª often in relation to special events, and often to people in the companies themselves. One of Daniel¡¯s roles was to facilitate the design of such promotional watches to be inexpensive, but attractive (and fun) for the customers. He retains a ¡°museum¡± of these watches and dials close to his shop. In these watch
To often threads about dealers/sellers who rip off people get posted and the dealer/seller who lives up to the product gets ignored. Well I want to address the latter group, and in particular a dealer/seller.This past Saturday I found a watch in the For Sale Forum and sent the seller an e-mail at about 8 a.m. or so. I live in Boston and the seller lives in California3 hours behind so he must have been awakened by a stray rooster. Within an hour he replied and within an additional 30 minutes I bought the watch via PayPal and later that day it was shipped. The watch arrived yesterday. I am wearing it now. The watch is everything the seller said it was. No falling out crown, no long nasty scratch on the crystal, no nothing but what was advertised. The dealer is Scott C. Allison who is the man behind Timesofplenty. I have nothing but great thoughts about the watch and the awesome customer service (I should include kudos to the USPS for getting the watch to me so quickly). Scott
My dad bought me a Nicolet watch from an estate sale..im wondering how much this thing could be worth, it looks really old and expensive it was apparently owned by a very old lady..could be worth something, please let me know??
I was looking at a old video about the Finnish "1000 lakes" rally from 1968 on youtube when I saw a stopwatch marking the seconds before a car started but it was not sweep-hand. As far as I remember quartz watches started to circulate around 1970 something what was that then?Is the video not original or did there exist non-sweep hand mechanical or electric stop-watches in 1968?
