Omega Releases New Seamaster Watches for London 2012 Olympic Games
This year’s Olympic games in London are significant for Omega for several reasons. One is that 2012 marks the 80th anniversary of the first Olympic games for which Omega was official timekeeper. Another is the last games held in the city of London, in 1948, saw the introduction of several sports timekeeping innovations pioneered by the brand. Finally, this year will be Omega’s 25th Olympic Games as official timekeeper. And in keeping with recent tradition, the brand will introduce a trio of special timepieces to celebrate.All three are Seamaster models ¡ª appropriate, since the Seamaster made its debut in the last London Olympics year of 1948. GMTIIC in the dark (lots of images)...
I never thought the fat hands and maxi dial could make such a difference. I always loved the aesthetic difference...but wasn't 100% sold on it being a truly functional upgrade vs. a cosmetic one. I am now a believer!!! Anyway, I got a little crazy with the lume shots last night. I love how the RRR on the rehaut lights up from the maxi dial's hour plots! You'll also note about an 8 sec shutter speed :)Couple in the light of day:And for extra credit...can anyone name the other two in this pic?

Noob Rolex Pics Rose Gold Day Date
Sry about the horrible quaility of the pics took them using my iPhone. This is my first Rolex and actually my very first watch. I have become obesessed with watches now. I'm going to purchase a Zenith Port Royal Open Concept soon to give my Rolex some company. I'll try to get some better pics soon.

Fake strap?
A few years ago when my uncle died I inherited a few bits and pieces including a 'Rolex' strap that was on an old Rotary watch. I can't post photos as I don't have enough posts to do that! I've done some Googling and similar straps seem to have more markings than mine. It's a stainless steel bracelet strap. The only markings on mine are the Rolex brand mark on the middle of the outside of the strap and 'Rolex Made In England Stainless Steel' on the reverse. There's also some kind of serial number on the lugs which looks like PD 874089 but it may be PO or P0 at the beginning. On the reverse of similar looking straps I've found online there are 2 larger Rolex brand marks. The fact it says 'made in England' seemed odd to me because anyone creating a fake would surely have it read 'Swiss Made'. Unless of course it's VERY OLD and was made prior to the company relocating to Geneva in 1919...which seems unlikely. Anyone any idea if it's just a piece of tat? :-) Thank you.

Rolex 116610LV, need advice (UK)
Hi, I have been having some bother of late trying to purchase a Rolex 116610LV from AD¡¯s in the UK. I wanted to be added to a genuine waiting list for my next watch, but so far I have been kicked off of one (Fraser Hart, Stratford), and goldsmiths had a breakdown in communication between themselves and my nearest dealer (Watford), resulting in, yes you guessed it a few months later being told I¡¯m not on the waiting list, which is now closed and no further customers being allowed to be added (Watford) . So now I¡¯m wondering, is this common throughout the UK with AD¡¯s not opening their waiting list for this particular model?Is there someone that can point me in the right direction, as I did want to purchase through an AD and have the experience of buying new, but if it¡¯s not going to happen, i would rather just know now, as I¡¯ve already been given the run around, which is sad as this was meant to be a positive experience.
