The Seiko Spring Drive is one of the most interesting development in horologie history. Some say it is a quartz as it uses one to regulate the beats. Some say it is a mechanical since it main source of power is the mainspring, it does not have a capacitor nor a rechargable cell like Kinetic. Some say it is a hybrid like kinetic or auto-quartz. Hand change
In recently bought a pam510. I love the piece but as I look at other Panerai models, I'm realizing I like shiny silver colored hands better than the black. Is it possible to swap out the black hands with a polished steel/silver/white gold hands?Can any watchmaker do this even though it is an in-house movement?Any ideas on cost and labor?Does anyone know somebody in the Chicago area who could do it?I have the discontinued sandwich dial so will this kill the watch as far as collectibility or resale?

I have a deep love for Daytonas and one of my all time favorite Daytona is the white dial Panda Daytona with Rolex's 4030 movement. Unfortunately finding this model in a mint condition is close to impossible. So I decided to go a different route.I bought an excellent condition Rolex 16523 with box and paper, spent decent chunk of change and bought brand new Rolex 16520 conversion parts. Here is the end result. All parts were bought brand spanking new***Decided to throw in something extra Now the beautiful 4030 movement can be seen in its full glory.Thought Id share the results with you all.
