A. Lange & Sohne 116.025 wrist watches news:
We found an Omega Marine Chronometer in going through my Father-in-Law’s things this weekend. He is a veteran of the Coast guard and is in a nursing home now. As you can see in the attached picture, he has replaced the original band and the gold serial number plate as been lost. It is not running, but the housing does not appear to be compromised or damaged.I would appreciate any thoughts on the following before I send it in to Omega,…1)Can it be fully restored?2)How much (approx.) it would cost – for the band, serial number plate, possibly crystal and bezel?3)Estimated value (both before and after restoration).I understand that it's a somewhat rare and special watch, I would just like some more information and an idea of it’s true value before we start the process. Thanks for your time.2012-07-30_10-31-50_233.jpg
I'm looking for my first high-quality new watch and I've narrowed it down (I think ) to the Omega Speedmaster Pro, Rolex Air King or the Omega Aqua Terra. I love the Speedmaster for it's history but I can't decide if i prefer a more simple dial as a classic go-to daily wearer. In terms of the Air King and Aqua Terra, I'm leaning toward blue dials for some reason but not 100% sold on that idea just yet. I'm also looking for something that's not too big on the wrist. Maybe it's my love for the old ones, but I've come to like watches with not a lot of heft. My current collection is 95% vintage with lots of silver, gold and white dials (and mostly Omegas). I wanted to throw it out there to see what your general thoughts are on these three watches. I know the Speedmaster is very different than the AK and AT, so there's no right or wrong answer just thought it would be interesting to see what you all thoughtAnd if any of you own any of these watches, feel free to throw in what you like/disl
Man these are tough to find. Anyone know where I can get a link or two for a 14790 bracelet? AP didn't even respond to my email inquiry.
Hi all,Just wanted to get an expert's opinion on this as I can't seem to find a clear quantitative answer online (other than all-original, triple-signed watches being generally more valuable). If I were to buy a Patek with an original movement and dial, but a replaced case, by how much should I haircut the original value, and how much would that impact its potential resale value? The new case is in 18-kt gold, also Swiss-made, if that matters. The condition is great otherwise. Thanks all! Cathy
Agree or disagree, whatever. 1. Basel prediction threads are worthless. 2. My AD said... threads are worthless.3. If you buy a PM Rolex you are now on absolute notice that Rolex will think nothing of killing the market for your watch by releasing a SS version. I think this is a great slap in the face to their highest end customers. Spare me the BS about you knowing its PM, about the subtle differences, about rarity vs. the weird new blue dial PM GMT, etc. Your watch is going to go down in price. No respect for the consumer. None.4. The Black/Brown GMT is awful. Maybe it will look better in person, shall see. Some people have an eye for those colors, not me. Can't wait for the nickname fans to have a go at that one. 5. The SS Blue/Red GMT on Jubilee is super nice. It just pisses me off that I can't go buy one in three months because of the anticipated and intentionally created scarcity. That really pisses me off. There too, we shall see. 6. The new movement! The new movement! Come on pe
